So just for my benefit as Im new to all this...
Can clubs only have 1 JPL team and any B or C teams then end up in JSL.
For U12 is this saying Metro Gold are in JSL? Gold were always their A team but Im assuming the JPL teams no longer have colour designation as they are JPL and the Gold/Red/Blue/white designations only apply to JSL if clubs have multiple teams.

Re: Jpl draft schedule
I had a look from a previous year and the final fixtures werent posted on the website till the 10 March which seems quite late. There used to be a preliminary calendar of season and cup rounds with all the dates posted on the ffsa website in January. Haven't seen one for this year though. Good for early planning for holidays etc... But the initial dates change a bit depending on what division you end up in, how many teams are in it and how many rounds you end up having to play.limozeen wrote:When do they usually release the fixtures for Junior comps?

Re: Jpl draft schedule
Final league structures were sent through on January 18th last year. From there they spend a couple of weeks doing draft fixtures. I'd say clubs will have draft fixtures mid February and they'll be on the website a couple of weeks later.upsidedown wrote:I had a look from a previous year and the final fixtures werent posted on the website till the 10 March which seems quite late. Re: Jpl draft schedule
I thought that might have something to do with it. Still looked like there are a few clubs desperately trying to find players to make up a team or two. Reality has to set in though. Not ideal to see a club lock in a team with 11 players and try to carry it a whole season grabbing players every week from younger age groups only to see it fold a third of the way in. I would have thought that u15 and above clubs might struggle for player numbers but from what I can tell there are few having issues over a wider age range.Pie and Bovril wrote:nothing yet, some clubs still culling teamsupsidedown wrote:Anyone seen the final league structures? I know of one club where parents have paid $1K and currently only have 6-7 players.upsidedown wrote:I thought that might have something to do with it. Price needs to go down. I know a hand full of young players not playing this season as its not affordable.

Re: Jpl draft schedule
U15/U16 is when they tend to drop off. Some players move into U18's which then divides groups and breaks up close friendship. The majority of kids still want to play in a team with their mates. Girlfriends start appearing at those age groups so it becomes harder and harder to recruit, especially at this late stage.Slide Tackle wrote:Price needs to go down. Re: Jpl draft schedule
Some clubs are poaching players from other clubs and in the process shafting existing players who quit the game forever!
This is due to some disgraceful coaches who are bringing many players with them to bolster their chances of winning.
Then people wonder why kids are quitting the sport and then not following the sport ever again.
Where are the ethics for coaches FFSA?

Re: Jpl draft schedule
A bit harsh asking for a grand early on if team isn't even a certainty. I was under the impression that most clubs ask for a deposit just after trials (200 to 400 dollars) and then the rest sometime mid February when the teams are set.
Re: Jpl draft schedule
True. Some clubs, like ours, have a clear policy that trialists are for top up only and existing players are kept at the club if they want to stay. Much better way to build a true club atmosphere.fball12 wrote:Some clubs are poaching players from other clubs and in the process shafting existing players who quit the game forever!
