Transparent Pricing Structure

Post by Dalziel »

Lot of previous views on forum around telling parents pricing before trials - what are views of being more transparent with pricing as way of dispelling some of the myth that football is too expensive?

Vipers FC are taking this approach this year - setting 2017 club fees at $225 for development; $325 under 7 to 9; and $375 under 10 to 17 - advising parents:

Club fees include coaching (minimum 50 training sessions per year, generally two per week, and 18 game days); registration with FFSA, Insurance, ground hire, equipment (goals / cones / bibs etc.), medical supplies (ice packs, creams, bandages), pitch marking, referees, trophy, and a ball. Our club fees work out to around $5 per session

More details of how structured on web site http://www.vipersfc.com.au/

If Vipers can do it at this price, why can't other clubs?

What are they doing right/wrong to achieve it at this cost?

Only having one venue to train and play on would save massive $$

Also notice don't keep strips (home and away), tracksuits, polo tops (amongst other things) which saves a bit.

Two biggest expenses are facilities and apparel

Yes this poster clearly forgot to mention that on top of these fees at Vipers you then have to pay for both home and away kits and tracksuit which the club says are all compulsory so by the time you then pay for all the compulsory kit a 14 year old is up to about $750.
That does not sound very transparent to me more like trying to say you are cheaper than you really are

Didn't take long for the usual negative slant to come in!

This post was about being more transparent in outlining how fees are derived might help to dispel some myths re football being too expensive - accepting as some responses so far have pointed out some clubs have more overheads than others so understandable fees are higher.

For the benefit of last ill informed - if actually went to website would understand total price for a 14 year old would be minimum $530 if returning player and $700 if new player

They also charge $75 for 10 weeks of a third training session. We get a season long third training session for players invited to advanced/elite squad.

That's triffic sagooner911

Whole point of post is being transparent so why don't you tell us what club you are speaking of - what your total price is and what the less advanced / elite players get for there money?

I'm not sure why you are choosing to turn this into a negative?

You are the one stating the club is fixing prices at $375, which is an amazing price, but when you visit the website you find out that you need to add another $325 of mandatory attire. Why not modify your existing post to reflect the actual price for people taking a new player to the club?

Ditto. The irony of the word "transparent" used here in thread title, being shown up, then getting labelled "negative".

This forum never ceases to amaze.

So glad others can see the irony of the transparency and not just see negative comments. what difference does it make what club I am from and what our fees are. I was not criticising your fees or the value for money, just pointing out that your so called transparency was not actually very transparent as it would actually cost a new member a lot more than you stated.

Starting post said club fee price and then listed what included in this - it also provided a link to website for more info if required where you would have found a full reasoning for how prices structured by age group and what you get. FYI this same reasoning and advice was emailed to all current players a week ago - I don't know how much more transparent the club can get!!!

Repeating, point of post was by separating costs can it to dispel some of myth football too expensive

BTW bravo Mount Barker

 what a thread

We are charging $50* per child in any junior team this season!

*extra surcharges may apply if child chooses not to train in the dark, selects to upgrade to training on grass, elects to play and train whilst being clothed. Other charges available on request.

Granted might have been too much of a stretch for some forum posters to read original post - to see what was included - and to actually click on a web link to ensure fully informed.

It is amusing that some are amused by the thought of transparent pricing.

Bottom line is our sport does have a perception issue re too expensive - rather than snickering behind emoji symbols do you have any better ideas?

Inflation at 2% at the moment.

Fees go up by 10-20% every year!

The money crunchers at these clubs are poor mathematicians or just greedy, probably both.

If you get decent facilities, quality coaching and all the bells and whistles, then its around the mark.
Can Comets claim all of the above? That is the question.

To all the haters.... I just wanna add that Vipers last season between U13 to U18's had one B Uefa coach, one B License coach, one C license coach undertaking the B License... Trains in a pitch were the players can actually see each other and has grass not mad...
No one brakes the players ball... everyone does his own job!
They have good equipment and have people that have knowledge about the game. (I have been looking at every club lately and some clubs don't even have proper bibs, cones, goals, nets or mannequins..)

So hater relax... the Vipers Fees are pretty good in relation to what they receive...

Using the info gained from the clear and transparent pricing structure easily accessed via the given link as a stick to beat someone with about the lack of a transparent pricing structure. Now that’s irony
