Yes we are having a JPL next year.
We are using our under 11 players to fill that team.

ACFC fees are posted on our Web Site.Bomber wrote:Start saving!
2014 Fees
U6 and U7 - $500
U8 - $685
U9 to U17 - $785
This includes: Home & Away Playing kits, ball, spray jacket & bag (different items for 2014 season), team photo, trophy, presentation night.
Also, no rosters for parents to run the canteen, mark the lines on the pitches, etc.
I'd say our fees aren't far off most clubs.
Re: Adelaide City Junior Trials for 2014
Given you didnt have any U17s this year, does that mean you will do trials for U18s?

That's not too bad. I thought that ACFC was always the most expensive.ACFC Juniors wrote:ACFC fees are posted on our Web Site.Bomber wrote:Start saving!

Anyone know what are the fees like at some of the other clubs (Metro, ABE, Campbelltown, etc.) for next season?
I can't see them posted anywhere.

Re: Adelaide City Junior Trials for 2014
Those 3 clubs' fees were listed in last Saturday's 31/8/13 "The Advertiser" double-page feature article about poor facilities, lack of government funding & costs for juniors to play. New Boy On The Block, that feature article is worth digging out and having a read.New Boy On The Block wrote:That's not too bad. Adelaide City's fees were not mentioned in that article, but neither were nearly half of the other FFSA clubs' fees. They might not have wanted to respond to the 'Tiser survey about those fees.
Also, half a dozen clubs have advertised dates of their trials in this forum but do not mention their fees for 2014. I hope as a gesture of goodwill they have at least frozen their fees to the 2013 rate given that the whole FFSA junior set-up is currently facing a controversial restructure.
Some clubs' fees for Under 6s & Under 7s are probably comparable to A.C.'s, but $500 seems a bit steep considering the A.C. kids of that age get a 1-hour session on a Friday evening, then a 40-minute SSG game on Sunday mornings.

Would be good if the government could freeze water and electricity costs too then ....Con M wrote:Also, half a dozen clubs have advertised dates of their trials in this forum but do not mention their fees for 2014. I knew the electricity & water cost issue would come up ZJ - and fair enough, those costs keep going up.Željko Jurin wrote:Would be good if the government could freeze water and electricity costs too then ....Con M wrote:Also, half a dozen clubs have advertised dates of their trials in this forum but do not mention their fees for 2014. But I hoped for 2014, when interest in the game will be even higher in a World Cup year, clubs could freeze fees as a gesture of goodwill.
Some clubs are very self-sufficient, others have a huge junior base, some get Federal, State or Council part-funding, but generally I would have hoped their hard-working volunteers could see that their clubs have some obligation to the community too.
For example, some FFSA clubs already charge less for the second or third child in a family when a sibling brother or sister is also playing. Also, FFSA clubs currently charge a lesser concessional rate at the gate for pensioner & welfare-card holders to watch the Seniors. Sticking with that concessional principle, what would it hurt to charge say, a bashed or abandoned single mum a bit less for her child to play? Hell maybe even raffle and allocate a couple of token scholarship freebies to that group of concession-card holders. It would be great PR.
Lastly, on doing the right thing about freezing or holding kids' fees down: What's this rumour about a fee just to trial at some clubs that I'm hearing? Say it isn't so, so it isn't so!
IMO freezing junior fees for 2014 while taking stock if the PPS (total first team squad Player Points System) has it's desired effect of curbing seniors' wage demands, and while this controversial junior restructure is thrashed out would be a good move.

You're too lazy to do any proper research, instead relying on hearsay and urban myths, and yet you continue to tell other people how to run their clubs.Con M wrote:I knew the electricity & water cost issue would come up ZJ - and fair enough, those costs keep going up.

Is he actually with a club at all? Or just another outsider who knows best.

Re: Adelaide City Junior Trials for 2014
Nope, Tanner. Been there, done that as a junior coach & co-ordinator during the explosion in junior teams and junior numbers. Unlike some who didn't like the idea of 'B' teams at every level, I pushed hard to go to absolute capacity to give as many kids as possible a chance to play.
I understood the opportunism in clubs cashing in when demand for places exceeded supply. But it still broke my heart to see kids missing out even making the 'B' team.
I called for restraint and moderation in junior fees increases. I saw with my own eyes what was the greatest source of income and the greatest area of expenditure. I got told by reliable people it was fairly similar at other clubs too.
I say again, let's see a temporary freeze in junior fees increases while the effect of the PPS intention to curb wage demands gets evaluated. And same goes while this junior re-structure gets worked out.

I hear some of Clubs in the Eastern States are charging $2,000 to $3,000 per season.
Sounds like SA clubs are good value then.
