Team Withdrawal - U17A JPL‏

Lack of players because there juniors know by that stage they will never get a look in.

They would rather spend $1100 a game on Kemp, $1100 a game on De Silva, $900 a game on Pezos - do I need to go on?

And for what - the State League.

Mark my words West Adelaide in 3 or 4 years will do what they always do - politics, in fighting and self destruct and the money will go and they will disappear again.

Forgot to mention they paid $6000 to City just to get De Silva.

Who in the hell pays $6000 for a player in the local league when they were going to romp it in anyway - West Adelaide.

Yep can field a star studded Senior Team but can't get an under 17 team.

This is a serious issue, and not just about WA team.
Of concern for the kids.
Poor form from the club to let team fold., but it does happen.
Will WA move them to other squads with in the club?
Will WA allow them to move on before deadline and reimburse players?
Will FFSA recognize the situation of individuals involved and allow them to stay in the game, somehow somewhere?
Will these kids be encouraged and supported to stay in the game?

No one likes to see these things happen.
Doesn't matter if they are a grecko, itai, euro, pom or woggyaussiemongrel background club or not.
We need to support the kids in these times.
1/6.... but still 6. :)

Scary to think your comments are intended to be whitty & intelligent.
Truth is, somehow you have missed the evolutionary process yourself.
Any juniors that access the junior forum ...... most adults aren't like this & the above is a perfect example of what NOT to be when you get older.
Multiculturalism is exactly that. Exercise some kindness & tolerance.

Wise words indeed. Unfortunately it is words like kindness and tolerance and that are missing from the vocabulary of some people. And these people are unfortunately around our games and some even take on official roles for clubs on match days.

Respect has to be earned. And unfortunately some adults don't know how to talk to children and teenagers. And when the match results are not going their way, that's when the really ugly side of human nature becomes evident. Not a good example to set the kids.

What do we need to hide from the juniors that there fees are largely going towards paying senior team players - under 6, 7 and 8's dont come on this forum otherwise there parents would be irresponsible for letting them come on the net without supervision.

13, 14, 15, 16 year old juniors are not little babies and maybe should know what is going on in the senior team and how a lot of the fees go towards paying the Senior Team players.

Why would West Adelaide let a team fold this far into the season - the committee has a lot to answer for in my opinion.

Wraith where are you to comment on what is going on - how can a committee let an under 17 team fold all of a sudden?

What are htese players ment to do - did you give them there money back?

A lot of questions to be answered.

With the grammar of a 4 y/o how could anyone take you seriously?? Your support of comments on here & comments you have made yourself would not be accepted by a rational person. If you feel so strongly about your views ... perhaps post your full name & club you are affiliated with ....... this will result in natural selection at it's best. Instant BAN!

Fulham actually had a lad from the West Adelaide 17's come to the club Tuesday night looking to get back in (he was at our club last year but left this year to go to West Adelaide).

Unfortunately the coach had no room for him in the 17's.

I do feel sorry for the kids though that now will find it hard to get a club.

just hope these boys are not lost to the game and find a club somewhere.

didn't birks change all their 17's games to midweek so they could field a team with other players instead of folding?

im sure they did all they could to keep it alive and this was a last resort ...just a shame its happened 9-10 rounds in.

They should scrap the U17's league next year, unless they just make one league as too many 17 year olds will be playing for the U18's in years to come!

To use such language, especially on a junior forum is completely inappropriate. You should hang your head in shame. What a disgrace.

In my opinion if a team drops out during the season then all their results should be annulled, making it a retrospective Bye. Anything else compromises the integrity of the competition. No one can complain about the impact of their 'result' against the withdrawn team if everyone gets a 'no result'.
