The east need s to be quiet because they are being whittled out. Remember it was the east that humiliated Elvis in that friendly before they went to Newcastle. He had the Newcastle squad training for 4 months and played the East zone team in thier first hit out and got smashed 6 - 0 :)

both good kids and nice families.
I would assume yes as the state + sasi have been asked to shop for specific positional players (ie - left foot left back and center backs).
They both certainly hold their own and fit the bill.

Looks like the trials will have to drag on for a bit longer.

With the all the Adelaide City boys out of the squad due to ineligibility (being JSL players) it at least opens up opportunities for some of the brighter stars from other clubs.

I wonder if Bob has told them the good news yet?

Well I heard tonight that once again the state u14 will commence training this Saturday.
Some kids will train Saturday morning.
Some will be training Monday night.
Some will be training Tuesday night.
Some will be training Saturday and Tuesday and some Monday and Tuesday night.
Good to see they are consistent with the discrimination towards some players. lol

Is this definate ???

If the clubs are in the JSL, I can't see why they still can't be a part of development/state squads ??

I know the 'memo' said that being part of the breakaway league means you can't be part of state and national selections, but it didnt state if this was for senior or junior players ....

1. Yes i believe still 3
2. Not correct..last year 4 made it including the one you talk about.
3. Correct ...Abe 5
4. Plenty of places for these kids to go after the Championship later in the year, there is trials for SASI, AIS etc as has been seen with boys this year. Boys who play at this level will surely be wanting to push up a few age groups to try their skills if not already doing so.

GC, its not all that bad...depends on how you view your cup..!!!

i can understand that Damian would always be on the look out for good players, thats his job...i was always told it was you who poached them.....   :P

Anyway lets get on with the trials no matter how long they take at least that they can trial now, would have been sad if they could'nt due to the saga of the last few days.

so what news?
I hear the coach said on Monday night that as a group the state U14's should be playing games against u17's, but since they have had "DISASTROUS" performances against U15 teams, it wont happen, also mentioned they cant decide the center back and wide midfield players and will invite more kids out in coming weeks. I wonder if they will invite those cut players back to compare them with the new players....???

Think there's a training session tonight, a game on Wednesday and one on Thursday.

Elvis Markov is helping pick the squad but will be away during the tournament, Tony Vidmar will take the squad interstate for the tournament.

A strin U14 State team should be capable of playing an U17 JPL squad, at the moment they're just matching it U15 JPL teams.

Coaching staff want to train the players so that they can get a better idea what they're like when playing at full intensity and playing the way that the FFA stipulate that the teams must play.

It's good training for the kids, and with club training should get them up to the minimum training requirement as stipulated by the FFA curriculum - 4 + 1

Just let the kids learn and enjoy it, don't give them added pressure by discussing personal views on the system.

"Poaching is the illegal taking of wild plants or animals contrary to local and international conservation and wildlife management laws. Violations of hunting laws and regulations are normally punishable by law and, collectively, such violations are known as poaching."

Yeah, and if they play like dogs, it would be known as "pooching".
