As this was a cup game I assume Fowler meant that it was the Para Hills 16A's side as Para also have a 16B's which would have also played in the Cup!

Seeing as how FFSA are a bit sluggish putting the cup results on the web site, anyone know the score from the U16 Adelaide City vs Modbury game?
Now, if you're lucky, you could hack through your ankle in five minutes.

I dont why this is allowed to happen at junior level - isnt 10 - 15 goals enough? This only further demoralises the young Plympton players and nothing is really achieved at these large scorelines.

I've been saying this for years but the feds don't listen. There is absolutely no value or gain in this type of competition. I've voiced my opinion at fed meetings a number of times and get agreement from other club delegates but nothing ever changes.

Don't get me started again

As a thought . .

When this happens should the club address this with the offending coach and seek an explanaition as to WTF !

If my team was on the end of that scoreline i would make an extra special effort at training to talk to the players to make sure they stay interested ect.

Oh and by offending i mean the winning teams coach.

And, i suppose, the losing teams coach may need a bit more assistance/help :)

Offending Kids/Coaches??? because they thumped a team?
I am sure those kids weren't told to go out and humiliate the opposition, you try telling 12 year olds to NOT TRY!
In Cup competitions you will sometimes get big margins especially in the younger grades, thats how Cup comps. work.
Kids have to start competing at some stage, its what make us as Australians competitive on the world stage, when at times we may have been behind in technical ability.
I agree big scorelines aren't great, maybe dont record the score past 10 goal margin, or perhaps finish the game early etc., but dont blame the coaches.
You try telling Kids "DONT stick it in the back of the net"!
Maybe if there are any pre cup games "B" teams can play off in these 1st?
Some people tell me that we professional players are soccer slaves. Well, if this is slavery, give me a life sentence.

I agree with you Big Mac, you can't tell kids of this age not to try, that won't work and that isn't the answer but something has to be done to protect these kids from these demoralising defeats. The only way to to this is to create a closer competition between the teams and your idea of the teams in the lower grades playing off in a pre-cup type competition is a good one. At least this way the score lines should be closer.
