Your last point is quite relevant , they have had trouble in the past maintaining the grounds without the additional workload of 7 more teams training and playing on them.Football Freak wrote:Not out of his league but i would suggest something a little higher than U12's.
Splitting hairs a bit, was he not re-appointed or did he not re-apply ? :?
Salisbury will need to get their pitches sorted out i rekon
Hopefully the local council can see their way clear to funding some improvements to assist the club.

Hiya, I'm the current Modbury U15's Coach. For the record, I was first asked if I wanted the U16's - I said no. I put in for the U17's or U19's (if Jimmy was to leave). I was then offered a position with the new Women's side; of which I also declined.
How do you say that is high expectations?
Since I was offered two positions within the Club first, I guess that makes me a "Good Coach" then. Cheers for that.

I have been in touch with United regarding their junior program, they intend to establish new teams and run them in association with the E&D teams.
There will be trials for the Fed teams during October and a number of players from the E&D teams will be trying out , and the coaches will be watching the E&D players for the rest of the season and throughout next year in order to talent spot individuals who could make the change.
They will also work with other clubs like Salisbury City / Villa / Parafield Gardens etc to develop players around the region.
This sounds to me like the first steps of the pyramid structure for junior / senior football that have been long recommended and long ignored around the country.
Congratulations Salisbury United and I hope they get some co-operation from the E&D clubs around them to support this process becoming reality.

would be very surprised to see e & d clubs help out.. they worry about themselves especially if they are clubs with amateur seniors , why would they send players to salisbury when realistically they should be looking to keep these players for life!! the better players will generally leave on their own accord anyway, but E&D clubs will look after themselves not fed clubs.

That is one of the biggest challenges the game always faces, clubs looking out for their own interests and not the development of the players and the game in general. I for one have actively encouraged players in my squad to seek opportunities at Fed clubs, but then I may be the odd man out on this one.
Clubs like Para Hills in some age divisons are already full for next year so I guess there should be some spare players around who want to move into the Fed ranks...
I watch with interest.

There is a Salisbury United Junior Football club that competes in the E&D competition from what I can recall they seperated from the seniors about 30 years ago (i stand to be correted on this)BillShankly wrote:do salisbury have teams that compete in the E&D as well?
They will continue to compete in the E&D comp , the new Salisbury United Fed Juniors will draw some players from them, as is to be expected.
The coaches of the Fed teams will be watching the E&D guys during the season and will probably operate as a feeder club.
A similar set up to Para Hills I suppose...
I thought the two para hills clubs (E&D/FED) hated each other, because the fed club kept their eyes on the E&D players. I also stand to be corrected on this.povman1964 wrote:There is a Salisbury United Junior Football club that competes in the E&D competition from what I can recall they seperated from the seniors about 30 years ago (i stand to be correted on this)BillShankly wrote:do salisbury have teams that compete in the E&D as well?

Here's some good junior news. Salisbury United HAS created junior sides for the Junior Premier League in 2008. The club WILL be partisipating in each age group from 12's - 17's. The club has gained several new junior coaches all eager for the sides to be successful. Watch this space here come Salisbury United!!
