Great question asked .

I think the answer is The Greek City State mindset is alive and well in Adelaide Town Greek background clubs.

That is why I am not around them anymore.
All clubs are the same? You cannot blame a race, but you must also look at yourself

Not all clubs are the same.

The difference is clubs that properly consult its membership before acting and ones that are run without proper consultation.

Haven't all clubs got committees and put everything to the vote. I can understand if a coach at a club has got most of the say who plays and who doesn't (at senior level of course). Coaches are accountable and should have the last say. These Greek clubs you talk about respect their coaches- Pezos, karatsas, Kidd, Stamatelopoulos have all the say. Those characters will not listen to committee or individuals. Some might piss in there ears. Sure, a committe might vote on buying a player, but the coach has the final say. The Italian clubs are the same, as too the English and so on.

NFI - I've seen AGM's where nobodies with all the answers come along for that once as year session and sprout cabernet but when it comes to helping out on a week by week basis or contributing in a positive manner in some other way, you dont see them until the next AGM suddenly with all the answers. These people are about as useful as a pro-AFL media persons for our local game.
JD, you remind me of them.

You want or need or like to have volunteers?

They have a view listen to them even if it is once a year .

Damn! I knew I should've volunteered at the club when I was asked!
So my kid can play at the senior level.
Now they have no bloody chance

It is written in Adelaide Town soccer history.
The Adelaide Raiders SC ( now called Comets) move on Park B27 without proper consultation to its membership . I use to play for the club.

Another classic non consultation type move from the history books.
Adelaide Raiders group split from The M A Hawks SC.

A common trait around these clubs is certain people have connections to them that cannot obviously work together for the common good.
Many former WAH original players from all ranks not consulted proper as an example before a group of new people use the same icons of the past to form WAH not original like Adidas.

Economies of scale debate?

Past v's present.

Let's start with income from gate takings as one variable.
Huge gate takings today from high numbers compared to not much back then.
Also high sponsorship income today compared to donations and pledges.
But players paid healthy incomes . That is Hellas and Juve players. For semi pro status.

Economies of scale.

As today a local NPL 1st team is more expensive to run than AU.

Economies of scale?

Local league clubs say v's AU?

NPL = low income high wages for players
AU = higher income low wages for players

Club incomes are above table only to be analysed .
Not donations or pledges .

Just analyse the ratios???

There is your answers.

Top comment " pull out of your own pocket" exactly compared to salary caps and huge gate takings for AU.

The only way to properly analyse the then from now or NPL club costing v's AU costing.
Is by using the main income variables eg from gate takings, food and drinks sold, advertising income.
Then take of your main expenditures one of course being player wages.

The result will be it costs more to run an NPL local club by far once you formulate the ratios.

What is new nothing.
I was talking about greater club depths decades ago .
A FFSA senior club having a complete structure from junior colt teams to seniors to B Grade or Amatuer teams playing on a Sunday. As the other poster mentioned If say the club plays WAH as an example all teams play the same other club that playing week. It should Be all about keeping players at clubs longer that clubs can benefit from.
I will give my soccer road as an example of a case in question.
Over my playing years starting at Polonia, going to WAH then going to many different Greek background clubs because WAH did have the teams to facilitate us to stay eg have playing time instead of sitting on senior benches.

You could have even from under 16, then 18, then open reserves to seniors playing on the Sunday for the club. Economy of scale coming to the club ground to watch spending money eg good and drinks . Two days of revenue for the FFSA club.

The only true measure to rate any FFSA management over s period of time is the measure of how much does it cost parents to send their children to play FFSA junior club soccer.
The record to date and under many managers is not good . Costs are up and up over a decade and becoming unsustainable for families.

As was stated in the previous post and I have been saying the same.
Ffsa should step in and only allow minimum elite junior colts teams per club say under 10,12,14,16 as the old days with all club teams from under10 to npl on the week playing the same opposition synchronised . No more of these fool the parents in paying fees for their child to play in a poly filla team just set up to raise fees and funds for the club with no real hope of their child succeeding.

It has to be a total set up by the ffsa to make it a real competition striving for excellence and then charging fees might be warranted. The same set up should be in place for State League.

HAL clubs??

I was just testing the waters forum.

The right answer is HAL clubs should be about creating or fostering communities in my books.

As the old Footy communities some with over 100 years of community engagement .

Quite a few if not all HAL current clubs have a long way to go to sustain and engage further.

But after all this what is the end game? The Socceroos ? Or?
