Congrats to Nano & Yuka Sasaki selected in the Team of the Year 2021

Post by bambam »

Well done to Adelaide Comets players in Nano and Yuka Sasaki on being selected in the team of the year. They both had a fantastic season and looking forward to seeing them again in 2022.
Congrats to the other recipients on being selected in such a prestige event.

Congratulations to the selected players.

However, 4 from NTC, plus the coach plus the rising star? Plus two from a team that finished towards the bottom.

There are 7 grand finalists on the pitch. Not sure what there is to complain about.

There are five grand finalists, the player of the year isn't there and the best-represented team finished fourth.

Not to mention the coach who won three trophies didn't get coach of the year.

Say what you will about the strength of SI's squad, but they had never even made a final before 2021 and swept all before them this season.

Just wondering when a couple of geniuses here get in touch with the actual WNPL coaches who make these selections based on what they're up against every week. Time to tell them to their faces that they're less qualified to decide who should make Team of The Year than some anonymous keyboard warriors.

Not the first time, not the last.

Also, pretty sure the team won those trophies. Didn't see him kick a ball.

Think SI supporters need to stop acting like victims, the trophies are more important than this and it's looks really petty when they slam NTC girls making the team but then lay on the charm to try recruit them.

Not affiliated to any team in particular, just a casual observer of the league who thought it was odd that the player of the year wasn't selected in the team of the season, and that the coach whose team won three titles didn't earn coach of the year.

At no point did I criticise NTC or its players who did a fantastic job this season and are definitely on the path to success. It is just rare that a TOTS is dominated by players from a team outside the top 1/2 teams. I don't care how many SI players make the team, the only player I think should definitely have been there was Chelsie Dawber after the way she carried City.

Fair enough. Let's limit the forum to WNPL coaches only and simply use it as a source of news where no discussion takes place because none of us are qualified to have an opinion.

Men's NPL medal winner didn't make the team of the year either.
Its not the first time this has occurred.
