W League season 2019/20

Post by In the way »

Has come around quick, I guess with the Matildas deservedly grabbing all the attention overlooked the start of the W league season, kicks off tomorrow night, Lady Reds away to WSW, then following week take on half the Matildas side when Sydney come to town.
Really need to take the game on and get of to a positive start tomorrow night.
Haven't see the line ups yet, at least a draw, if we are to make the top 4.
Thoughts ?

Wanderers have arguably recruited the pick of the bunch with their visa spots. Three players from the most successful NWSL team in the last 3 years, North Carolina Courage, with US International Lynn Williams arguably the pick of the bunch. They've also recruited Amy Harrison who is likely to be a regular in the Matildas midfield by the time we get to the Olympics.

This is going to be a tough match, this is probably the strongest WSW have been in the W-League. Hopefully the Fowlers are fully recovered from the Asian Cup last week and ready to go.

Unfortunate result (losing it in injury time), but great to see so many WNPL players involved against a strong side (6 starting and 1 off the bench, representing 5 different clubs).

That hurts to get so close, games like this where we play well we need to come away with something.
Should we have just bottled the game up last 5 minutes of each half ?

Conceded a goal just before half time, conceded a goal just before full time, lapse in concentration, other lack of discipline.
We will go into next game hopeful, coming away with a draw last Thursday would have put us in good stead to cause an upset.
