Proper recognition for our female football (soccer) players

Post by billy the kid »

I know that there are many female sports with unheralded athletes however, football (soccer) is undoubtedly the biggest female participation sport in Australia. AFL-W aside, women’s football is a truly international representative sport with many of our women representing Australia over the decades for little if any money and unable to hold down a proper job. They are the pioneers that need a statue to represent the journey our pioneers have taken to forge the path to today where many players are now reaping the rewards.
Female football is a standalone sport that deserves the spotlight.

Would Lucy Zelic agree? Somehow I don’t think she’s a fan of women’s soccer.
