Sportsbird is Hanging up the Boots
I have decided to hang the boots and end my oponions and rumours on this forum. It's time for another forumite to challenge coaches, players, clubs and supporters.There will be lots of forumites who will be extremely estatic to see the end of me. Thats ok im a big girl I can handle it.
As for my final comment, I hope Adelaide United players and coaches prove me wrong and go all the way. But reality tells me that we will fall short again making the finals.
Good luck.

Re: Sportsbird is Hanging up the Boots
cheers Deep Throat. Sad to see you go.
The happy clappers have won.
Lets see how things pan out for AUFC-W and another season left to ponder.
How about we all make a prediction here about the AUFC-W. I sense no one will say anything other than "Everything's great.Nothing to see."

Re: Sportsbird is Hanging up the Boots
Its not about saying 'everything is great', its the agenda driving Sportsbirds posts which is the problem, as I have posted before contribute dont just take pot shots, make recommendations based on your opinion, take shots are people from the couch is weak, actually discuss where youd go ect.billy the kid wrote:cheers Deep Throat. A couple of seasons ago I was involved there so I didnt post on here, but I did read and at first I found some comments funny especially knowing what was actually happening, but by the end of the season they actually got to me & my opinion became F K you why on earth am I even bothering with women's football, and when asked since by clubs if I'd be interested in taking on a role at their clubs I have mentioned this and how its put me off being involved, I continued to work with Sarah & Ev as we had built up friendships & they needed the help.
Sportsbird immediate response to post about constructive criticism was her best post & worth reading, the rest are what put me off.
Paul Merson,
Now back to my question, which players do you think should stay/go & why?
(The question is about the players not Ivan)
The players to be re-contracted as follows;
Chelsie Dawber - had a great year in WNPL winning the golden boot and should go on with her form in the W League
Emily Condon - Finished well in the last part of the W League last Season and has continued her form in the WNPL this year.
Laura Johns - Great season in the 2018-2019 W League and in the WNPL
Sarah Willacy - Great Goalkeeper, say no more.
Emma Checker - Not an attacking player, continues to play backwards in defence. Like to see her take on attacking players a lot more. Still a valuable player and captain.
Charlotte Grant - Future long term & exciting player
Evelyn Goldsmith - Young goalkeeper with a great future.
All overseas player were great and should be retained.
Players to be delisted;
Emily Hodgson - has been exposed in defence on numerous occasions and opposition teams have taken advantage of it
Dylon Holmes - Had a good start to the season but fell away at the half way mark. May get another chance.
Georgia Campagnale - Has not continued her form since season 2017-2018 starting all 12 games to 6 starts in 2018-2019.
Georgia Ianella - Injury prone and don't believe she is capable of playing at the W League level. Also easy to bump off the ball, this was displayed this season in the WNPL season.
Grace Abbey - Injury prone and has had two years with the lady reds with no real outcome. Played 1 game and no start.
Meleri Mullan - Injury prone also and I dont believe she should be retained.
Sian McLaren - Hasnt cemented her place in the W League.
Isabel Hodgson - Not fully committed to Adelaide United. Played 7 games with only 1 start.
However Michelle Heyman was a disappointment but that could be the way she was told to play.
None of the above players have been exciting or challenged opposition teams. Have not seen any of these players stood out.
Future players to be looked at as follows;
Adelaide City - Matilda Mcnamara, Daniela Di Bartolo
Adelaide Comets - Victoria Mansueto
NTC - Nil
Salisbury Inter - Chantal Ryder
Fulham - Jenna McCormack
Metro - Chrissy Panagaris, Isabella Scalzi,
West Adelaide - Abby Touche, Nicole Tilley and Elena Psaroulis
Adelaide Uni - Nil
This is my opinion and I am not sure if I missed out anyone.
This is what this should be about.

Hello Sportsbird, I have never met you, but have enjoyed your input on here.
But, seriously announcing your retirement on a forum?
Is this another attempt of trying to be relevant?
End of the day, why would you let the "trolls" or haters win?
I thought you were better than that!
