Considering the source, I'd say unlikely. In the way wrote:true or fake news ? would think it would be official announcement up on facebook page before posting on here ?

Re: Adelaide City Appoints Max Primaro as Head Coach
i just thought it was a bit odd that the announcement was made on here before it was made in public either via social media, or the website, or not even mentioned at the ACFC Presentation held few nights ago
It compares to someone who has just given birth, and one of their friends had to quickly share the news on facebook before the couple had a chance to share with their own family and friends first.

I think you will find that family and friends - ie the AC "community" were notified of the appointment earlier this week by email - along with junior coaches and trial dates etc
Just because it's not on social media doesn't mean it hasnt happened (wink)

Re: Adelaide City Appoints Max Primaro as Head Coach
It appears, Adelaide City players met on Monday night without the new coach to discuss their disappointment with the committee over a promise made to them that they will be consulted and have an input in selection process of a new coach for season 2020. As a result, several players approached prospective clubs for another opportunity. The meeting was also arranged to determine which players will remain or leave giving those players who are unsure about the future of the club.

Junior do you have a suitable rebuttal? or alternate view? Probably not

I am very close to someone who was at said ‘meeting’. Coach was present. It was routine kit fittings and individual player meetings. Nothing nefarious or negative. All business as usual. Not sure where Sportsbird gets their information...

If the part in bold is true I am gobsmacked. Why on earth would you ask players who they would like as coach?sportsbird wrote:It appears, Adelaide City players met on Monday night without the new coach to discuss their disappointment with the committee over a promise made to them that they will be consulted and have an input in selection process of a new coach for season 2020. Re: Adelaide City Appoints Max Primaro as Head Coach
I'll be careful how I frame this post.
SB isn't totally wrong. Let's put it that way. Players are having a voice. As they should because they want to be assured that the right person has been appointed and that the club has done its due diligence in appointing the head coach. They should be concerned. They've worked to get to this point. A bad appointment can ruin what has been created.
The women's soccer scene is very close knit and many players are aware of the good and bad in women's coaching circles. The players are across Max's CV over the last 3-4 years.
Let's wait and see

The way women go from club to club following their cliques is a joke!

Re: Adelaide City Appoints Max Primaro as Head Coach
Not sure that's what we're talking about here. And the City girls were not consulted regarding Max Primaro's appointment. They were not consulted, nor did anyone promise them they would be. Not sure where that rumour came from.
Re: Adelaide City Appoints Max Primaro as Head Coach
A lot of diplomacy shown on this subject. I'll add my 2 cents.
Like it or not, the appointment isn't sitting well with people at city. Not matter how you dress it up, people at city aren't convinced that this was a good move.
My views are that city may not be able to offer the $$$$$$$$$$$$ it once had access to for coaches and had to get the budget model. I think it will be a cautious year ahead for city and they will keep a close eye on the conduct, performance and attitude of the coach. Players also will be giving him the benefit but with a tight leash
I'll be interested to read Junior's rebuttal.

I'm not familiar with Max Primaro or his history. Do they have cause for concern?SAD GAL wrote: I think it will be a cautious year ahead for city and they will keep a close eye on the conduct, performance and attitude of the coach. Players also will be giving him the benefit but with a tight leash

Fair call.

Yes he did. Nice bloke. Good coach however, the bar at city has been (deservedly) been set very high. Expectations at the club and with players would be extremely high too. As expected. Brave man to take on the gig. He's obviously refreshed and ready for a challenge away from the confines of fulham.

If the club has run a large deficit this season just passed, the financial impact will flow through to all, including the women.
