Round 13

Post by M@rvin »

For this round my picks are:

Uni Vs Westies
Inter Vs Metro
Fulham Vs Cumby
City Vs NTC
The goalkeeper is the jewel in the crown and getting at him should be almost impossible. It's the biggest sin in football to make him do any work.

I wasn’t there, but the stats suggest it was very exciting. 1-1 until Cumby scored in the 84th minute to go ahead. Fulham then equalized in the 86’, and won in the 90’. Sounds like a pretty gritty performance to me.

Stats look very interesting! Strange to see Cumberlands defence (who overall have been quite solid) could not hold the lead for more than 2 minutes TWICE!!l?

I’ve also heard Jenna was played higher up the field and cumberlands captain up as centre forward (??) Could explain why it was a higher scoring and exciting game from both sides!

Cumberland look to be in trouble now though

Solid result for metro 5-0 in the lead up to the cup quarter final this Saturday.

West Adelaide drew with Uni.

Fulham over Cumberland. WOW. Given their strong mid and defence, I did not see Fulham score 3.

City v NTC this Wednesday.

What a season

NTC have certainly caused some scheduling challenges lately.

The Postponement of NTC games has also caused some teams some challenging scheduling and player managements issues. Some teams end up playing 3 games in a week when NTC catch up (or one brought forward) games are scheduled mid week.

The good teams will deal with this with their recovery and fitness programs.

How often do the girls play on pitches the size of TK?

They don’t often play on pitches that big at the moment. But all of the players, on both sides, are experienced and fit. They've certainly played on big pitches before and they know what they need to do.

they will probably play this on the artificial pitch, as that is where my daughter played against them on the weekend.
I don't believe it is any bigger than the parks, its a bit more bouncy than the shores and parks though.

The Metro/City cup round Saturday is at TK Shutter- will be on the main pitch. City's game tonight is at Oakden, also on the main pitch as it is the first game under the new lights there.

One thing we all agree on for sure is that the WNPL are being played in the greatest of surrounds and pitches on A Friday night with double headers, when compared to where it was only 5 years ago.

The WNPL girls and all the players in the women's league will paly anywhere, anytime, and on any (well almost) pitch.

City 5- NTC 0

Play stopped a few minutes early after NTC keeper collided with the upright and was left unconscious. I believe it was a backup keeper. Hoping she pulls up ok. Very scary. :(
