Season 2018 Almost Here

Post by billy the kid »

Good luck to ALL the teams in the WNPL and leagues below for season 2018. Hoping for an extremely competitive season that will go down to the wire with many surprises and twists and turns.

Let’s hope no major injuries and that rivalries will mean a high level of competiveness.

Pre-season is almost finished and trial matches completed.

Any feedback on club pre-season matches will be appreciated.

Roll on round 1.

Does anyone know when the WNPL Reserves fixtures will be released?
The goalkeeper is the jewel in the crown and getting at him should be almost impossible. It's the biggest sin in football to make him do any work.

Slightly off topic.
With three weeks or so to the start of the junior girls season we have clubs like WA, Uni, Modbury, Comets, Campbelltown scrambling to find players. Not a good sign.

Sometimes bureaucracy can get in the way of common sense, with some of the things clubs are being fined for.

Couple of queries ?

What is the ruling players moving up and down, I tried to read the rules regulations on ffsa website, , found it very confusing, regarding movement of junior players, around the cup games.

In the Community divisions, do not mind teams moving players up and down between the next grade, when team allegedly moves players from division 1 to division 5 ( when they have a div 3 team ) it is a big jump - not sure you are allowed to do that, and is it in the spirit of the game ?

Cheers

You can only drop 3 players down that were on the team sheet for the previous week I believe.

it has changed it is now 4 players - yes you can drop to the next division, looks like from what is being quoted, players bypassed a team and filled in for their bottom team ?
if true, how did ffsa not pick that up ?
