Re: Adelaide Uni v Flinders
The Division 1 competition was brilliant this year! The competition was evenly spread and there were some great skills on show, from what I have seen, most of the Div 1 teams would give most of State League a good run for their money.
I was lucky enough to see a number of the Flinders and Adelaide Uni games over the year and saw all three of their battles against each other. It was fitting that the Div 1 title came down to both these great teams having to play each other with the winner taking the league. Flinders went out on the pitch with intention, which was evident with a shot on goal within 8 seconds and then capitalising 5 minutes later. It was looking like a 1-0 win but when Flinders put a second away, the game was sealed. Adelaide had a great strike and managed to put one top right corner, the Flinders keeper got her hands to it and was unlucky to push it away. A last minute goal to Flinders sealed the deal. Adelaide pressed all game and had control most of the match, however, was unable to capitalise, it was a great game to watch and both teams should be proud of their efforts yesterday and for the year.
Congratulations to Flinders who won Div 2 last year, were promoted to Div 1 this year and took out the Premiership, well done back to back is deserved!!!
