New PowerHouse Team To Dominate Women's Football in 2015
There is a new team being introduced into the women's league association in 2015 and will be playing in the men's league.
The people involved have done a fantastic job in expanding their teams further for 2015.
The strategy and philosophy cannot be questioned as they do what they want to do.
They have recruited exceptionally well, better than any other clubs in the Women's league.
They have targeted elite players which will be the envy of all clubs.
It is the fastest growing organisation since the inception of the Women's Premier league.
They will have approx. 120 elite players.
The football dept. should be congratulated for all their hard work and achievements.
The income they have generated in the past has been enormous and will increase even further in the future, with no other current clubs even coming close to it.
The Women's Premier league or the new WNPL will become a second grade competition as there will be no elite players left.
So to all remaining female players wanting to play at the highest level, get on board & support the new elite teams and sign up in the men's league and hope for the best that you get recruited or play another sport.
For the current Premier League clubs, make sure you remain as individuals clubs and ensure you don't unite as one as we do not want the clubs to be more powerful than the new expanding teams.
Lets ensure the Premier clubs only look after themselves. Just stay quiet.
In conclusion, all clubs should rethink their strategies for the future and concentrate on just having fun as a social club.
or
?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
FINALLY GOOD LUCK & ALL THE BEST TO THE EVERGROWING ELITE TEAMS FOR 2015 AND ONWARDS.
and
TO THE OTHER PREMIER CLUBS, ALL THE BEST AND ENJOY BUILDING A SOCIAL CLUB FOR THE FUTURE.

Im confused.....Have SA got 120 elite female players??
and if they are playing in the Mens league then what has that got to do with the womens League....
I know Im not really in the SA scene anymore but you make no sense to me.
Are you saying theres a new club or a new league other than the current system.

you need to read the elite pathway for female players for 2015 onwards to understand where the thread is aimed.
Re: New PowerHouse Team To Dominate Women's Football in 2015
im also confused.. How can they dominate womens football if they aren't playing in a womens competition?

The way I read, I think you'll find Sportsbird having a (legitimate) dig at the fastest growing 'club' within the FFSA which isn't actually a 'club'.
At this rate, in a couple of years, FFSA will be playing FFSA in every round of the women's comp ;)

Re: New PowerHouse Team To Dominate Women's Football in 2015
its not on the ffsa website it was an email sent to clubs advising them of the elite squads situation for 2015 onwards and selections and who all the various elite squads would be playing against in 2015 and how many players would be in each squad and many/most not then able to play for clubs.
Re: New PowerHouse Team To Dominate Women's Football in 2015
Well as far as I can see our NTC program is working with no less than six girls in the Young Matildas squad that qualified for next years AFC competition....
Yes they are taking some of girls out of the main stream clubs but if they dont get that development our state will be right back where it started with no one representing SA.
You cant have your cake and eat it too....we just have to keep going and keep developing....it doesnt happen over night. My daughter left the state because she couldnt get the level of development that she needed as the NTC program was closed to her as she was too old.. If we dont want this to keep happening we need to provide more elite training for everyone here n SA and IN MY OPINION this is the best way to do it....

Individual development cannot be to the detriment of the grassroots of the game and the true stakeholders of the game, the clubs (those that are left).
But like all things, there is a medium and balance that suits both.
We should have a strategy and structure in place that allows the grassroots and clubs to flourish and provide an elite pathway for individuals.
The two are not mutually exclusive.

will players be asked to sign contracts ? if they are it should include a clause to protect people from their sanity, and lets call it a sanity clause.
Re: New PowerHouse Team To Dominate Women's Football in 2015
So will they be paid like the men are?
The goalkeeper is the jewel in the crown and getting at him should be almost impossible. It's the biggest sin in football to make him do any work.

I forgot to mention,
Imagine the elite players deciding to retire at the age of approx. 22 from the fantastic elite teams, they will be able to finally sit back, relax and watch[/b] their team mates play
or
they may return to their previous clubs.
Returning to their previous club will be fantastic transition from an elite level to a substandard level.
Imagine the experience and knowledge these elite players will have when volunteering to help their local club on surviving or cooking the BBQ.
They will not play of course, as they would have been burnt out, sick of playing or not wanting to play at a substandard level.
Let us unite and support the elite teams to ensure it grows and grows.
The local clubs, well they can enjoy watching the elite teams grow.

No need to worry about that. If the thought process doesn't change quickly there will be no clubs / competition to come back to in 5-10 years time. If you want to build a structure that that will stand the test of time, you provide good footings/ foundations and spend time building it from the bottom up not the top down.
Also can we stop using this term "elite" in reference to these squads and everything associated with them. Puskas, Di Stefano, Pele, Maldini, Socrates, Cruyff, Zidane, Maradona and Messi were elite juniors. Herbert Chapman, Vincente Feola, Helena Herrara, Cesar Menotti and Rinus Michels were elite coaches please.

In 5-10 years the FFA want all mens NPL clubs to have womens teams and a certain quota of womens coaches dont they?Danny Way wrote:sportsbird wrote:I forgot to mention,

I believe that was one of the future requirements to get into the NPL

You are 100% spot on.It's actually amazing seeing that the ONLY PEOPLE WHO DON'T GET IT are the FFSA. They have been trying to improve things at the state/NTC/W-League level and they are doing OK in that department IMO but at what cost?

Re: New PowerHouse Team To Dominate Women's Football in 2015
There will always be women's teams playing football. The current problems in the game are because the Womens clubs have become more focused on developing elite players and have forgotten their roots which was to provide all women with the opportunity to play football. Elite football players represent less than 5% of the women who want to play football and too many clubs have forgotten about the other 95%.
It would be very interesting to do the ratio of the number of womens football players who are playing today versus the number who have given the game away. The ratio would be something in the order of 25 to 1 or maybe higher.

These 120 or so players may well only represent less than 5% of the TOTAL players in this state, but bear in mind these players have not been removed from teams playing in the prems, reserves or social leagues. They have been removed from the under 17,15 and 13 competitions, so a quick calculation makes the figure closer to 20% when relative to the leagues they play in thus drastically weakening these leagues numerically . Also I think it is very unfair to accuse clubs of forgetting the other perceived 95% of players. They are all currently playing at clubs, (otherwise they would not be part of the 95%), who provide them with coaches, grounds, playing attire, infrastructure and an avenue to play this wonderful game. Have not heard of any club that turns players away if they can accommodate them, ie have the coaching and space to train and play.
Also Mr Merson I look forward to relying to your post re the men's teams and affiliation with the women's teams but bit pressed for time. Will do so at later date.

The point medicare made about majority of players who give the game away, are from the top level is a valid one- not sure how this "elite" competition is going to solve that, just by repackaging/rebadging it ? Will these sides have big squads, or will they have reserves side playing in another league ?

I think its about all w-league players are not allowed to play in the premier league next year and instead will be training all year round with Ross and playing every second week against boys teams...
and if this is the case then it really only takes out about 5 of the current players as the others were already in the NTC squad anyway...

My post was kind of rhetorical as the thread was so far off the initial track...Sportsbird's sarcasm in the initial post was lost on a good number of forumites who don't have up-to-date information. Let's just see how it all shakes out.

Interesting , think it will be more not 5, ntc have a squad already. THis will impact on the current premier league plus word was this was not going to happen? Clubs have selected players and keepers so what happens here ?Retired wrote:I think its about all w-league players are not allowed to play in the premier league next year and instead will be training all year round with Ross and playing every second week against boys teams...

It does weaken the league with so many coming out of the clubs now , juniors more so.
NO notice, no communication.

I understand that the the first formal communication given to the clubs was via email, the very next day, AFTER the Gallop meeting, with all clubs.magicfootball1 wrote:Interesting , think it will be more not 5, ntc have a squad already. Despite an open rumour that this latest FFSA invention was going around at least a month earlier.
Looks like the FFSA no longer even make out that they listen, they just act arbitrarily and do as they please, as long as those sucker clubs keep paying the fees off the backs of the ever diminishing pool of volunteers who give up their Sunday's to mark the pitch, run the lines or do the BBQ.

That is just so wrong on a bunch of levels. Including, but not limited to, the errant apostrophe.

Deflecting to grammar rather than bring up a SINGLE fact to address any substantive points, aside from that 'I'm so wrong'. Bravo.juniorsupporter wrote:"Looks like the FFSA no longer even make out that they listen, they just act arbitrarily and do as they please, as long as those sucker clubs keep paying the fees off the backs of the ever diminishing pool of volunteers who give up their Sunday's to mark the pitch, run the lines or do the BBQ."

Of course you would back up the FFSA on a 'bunch of levels'
Please enlighten us as to how and when the stakeholders of the competition were 'engaged' on the latest senior FFSA team and how their input, if any, was applied?
Amazing how I was aware of the gossip of this latest side over a month before it was formally communicated, but it only came out the very next day AFTER the conference with Gallop.
I look forward to supporting FFSA v FFSA and watching FFSA win over FFSA in the years to come. Should be enthralling hey?
Sporting Bird has raised many valid points. I just feel sorry for the 'sucker' volunteers who continue to put so much of their time, money and effort into the game and respective clubs for an approach which seems to evolve around purely getting a handful of 'elite' players playing well for a one week annual tournament.
P.S - Apologies in advance for any additional grammatical errors. Some are not as fortunate to be as educated and insightful as yourself.

True. It's tough explaining the 'vision' to the plebs, who should just stick to marking the lines, paying the fees and only speaking when spoken too.
