It's all he can do to attempt to be relevant lol. Post some random irrelevant statement and cling onto it for dear life, that's the GIAE way.

No, he said "something England is known for (rainfall) ". No mention of cricket days lost.

My fact is a direct response to that.

Correct the country England is known for its rainfall. England has a higher average rainfall than Australia FACT. You lost once again as always.
Awaits the predictable response as you can not resist nor let anything go as it would eat away at you. Any reply is a win to me as usual lol

Interesting that something England is know for (rainfall) is the one thing that stopped them from yet another embarrassing loss. I guess 4-0 for the series will be good enough lol
Opinion

Sydney has higher rainfall than London.
ahhhhhh that ol' chestnut.....Hawksey thinking he has a new audience to talk his Barossa Pearl to... :clown:

cant find any data post 2000 but here are the total days lost due to rain 1880-2000

England: 85
New Zealand: 41
Australia:36
West Indies: 28
India:25
Pakistan: 23
South Africa: 18
Sri Lanka: 14
Zimabawe: 4
These stats have no meaning without knowing number of tests played. For example

Washed out Test days since 1877: Sydney 25, England 85 (you say)

112 tests at SCG & 25 days rained out = a day lost every 4.5 tests
1044 tests in England & 85 days rained out = a day lost every 12 tests

Regarding cricket at least, Sydney is wetter than England

Not for long im betting. They will need to pull out something big to get a win in Hobart. Part of me hopes you do at least get close cause then the whinging about the weather, umpires, celebrating mediocrity etc might stop lol. You'd be hoping Stokes will be fit enough to play otherwise you guys definitely have no chance.

why compare a city with a country....why not make it Sydney V London or Aust V England???

if you look at number of tests played, there have been 2X as many days lost in England than in Aust

I don't have that stat to hand. London possibly more because London has two test venues. However it is my understanding (but I cannot find the proof) that Sydney has lost more days than Lords or the Oval.

Chsnge the goal posts all you want.

OK, found the stats.

The SCG has more days lost than any other Ashes venue at 26, The Oval is only 15.

.

im not the one changing the goal post...see your earlier post where you spoke of 'cities' not venues....

None of that changes the facts. Sydney has more rain than London. In fact, the only state capital that doesn't have more is Adelaide.

You changed the goalposts when you wanted to make it about cricket days lost.

You can't compare days lost Sydney v London as London has double the amount of test cricket played.

You could use a ration including days played and days lost. London would be significantly above Sydney on that won.

London has more than one venue, every year double the test matches are scheduled in London than Sydney.

Good to know you can see that Sydney has more rain than London and has lost more days play than any other ashes venue.

Why would we pray for rain, I'm hoping it doesn't save australia again.
