No, Only broad is a Cheat, unless your not telling us something regarding the rest of the english players?
I get that their are many in the past that were not born in england, but have been "drafted" to play for the poms.

At least we weren't bowled out before lunch. Has that happened this pommy test match summer?

Good to see majority of the Barmy Army stand and applaud Smith when he reached his century.

Toomer and hawkesy would have choked on their kippers.

Maybe some of the more knowledgeable have understood he served time for his "crime" and appreciated a good knock whilst all else in the batting line-up struggled (apart from a few).

And so they should, considering England captain Mike Atherton was in the crosshairs in 1994 when he tampered with the ball during the Lord's Test against South Africa.

So, they didn't stand up and applaud then on Facebook. Is that what you're saying?

Day 2 is certainly England’s. 5/6 sessions so far but game could still turn now on one team having an abysmal session.

"We saw you cry on the tele".

Laughed at Warner showing his empty pockets yesterday.

This game would be over by now if it wasn't for Smith.

Prove it!!!

I can understand given our shaky start that we would rather go into Test 2 with the moral victory of having the POMs playing to survive but we needed more than half an hour at them last night.....not like us to be that conservative...

Day 4: England require another 385 runs with 10 wickets remaining

So do England have a crack? Roy, Buttler and Stokes, surely you have to have a go?

385 from 540 balls.

I don't think they will change anything, but go about the run chase as normal.
They may decide to increase the run rate after lunch if still having plenty of wickets in hand.

what a great last day in the 1st test match.

Smith (hate him or love him) but he is in a different class above all others.
Broad the only bowler, so far that is the best IMO even for a cheat!

Just like the CWC, do anything to win.

Umpires urged to crush dodgy England tactic

Ashes umpires should crack down on England after Joe Root's side repeatedly tried to get the ball changed during the first Test.
That's the call from former Australian captain Mark Taylor, with England trying in vain to have the ball swapped as Aussie batsmen dominated day four at Edgbaston.
Root and his bowlers were at umpires Aleem Dar and Joel Wilson from the day's third over, with the ball less than 40 overs old when it's meant to last for 80. Officials repeatedly halted play to pass the ball through a loop, checking that it was not misshapen.
Play was stopped three times within six overs during the first hour of the morning session. One instance came five balls in to a Stuart Broad over and his next over saw play halted after three deliveries.
It appeared that England simply wanted to try their luck with a different ball, as Steve Smith powered towards his second century of the match. Australia got a ball change during England's first innings - and took two wickets in the next six overs.I think the umpires need to get stronger and start throwing the ball back. I think the umpires have lost all confidence so far in this game," Taylor told Wide World of Sports, with Aleem and Wilson also having made a raft of incorrect decisions.
"A couple of times, the fifth ball of the over, the bowler would ask for a change and they'd go through the obligatory pass it through the rings and throw it back to the bowler for the very last ball.
"Why wouldn't he just throw the ball back to the bowler when he gives it to you and say, 'I'll have a look at it at the end of the over'. Save some time.
"One of the problems we've got in the game is that the game is slowing down, more and more all the time. It's little things like that which are adding up.
"I really think the umpires have got to grab control of the game and start throwing balls back to either side and say, 'Get on with it, I'll have a look at it at the end of the over'.
England were also called out by two of their own former Test captains, who said that Root's antics were tactical.
"Oldest trick in the book, isn't it?" Michael Atherton said in commentary.
"If you're not happy with the ball and it's not doing enough, you try and get it changed but the umpires are not easily fooled."
Nasser Hussain said: "So what if it's (ball) out of shape a little bit? You get a ball for 80 overs, you keep it and then you change it.
"It's part of the natural progression of a ball when it gets battered around.
"Stop all these delays, mind games and tricks. They are basically trying to change it because it's not doing anything."
Bizarrely, England didn't even take the new ball when 80 overs were up. Root instead waited until 84 overs.
