Windies bowler banned for calling opponent 'gay'

The only logical conclusion to be drawn from the ban imposed on the West Indian bowler for calling Joe Root 'gay' is that being gay is bad .

Either: 1. There's nothing wrong with being gay - in which case, what did he do wrong?
After all we keep getting bombarded about how good they are, so what's the problem?

Or 2. If being CALLED gay is insulting, then being gay must be a bad thing.

It's just modern day tripe which affects so many these days.

Can't call anyone a black so and so, can't call anyone a gay so and so.

Was Root offended? Did he lodge a complaint?

Pretty sure i read that he said something along the lines of:
"Why do you keep staring at me? Do you like boys?"

Root then responded with something like "there's nothing wrong with being gay"

so he didn't call him gay and he didn't say anything homophobic

miscarriage of justice by sanctimonious English

Credit where it's due zzz - you're absolutely right.

That isn't being "sanctimonious ". Joe didn't lodge a complaint, it was the umpire who put in a report. Haven't read anywhere of Joe Root making a complaint. Perhaps you aussies should clean up your own game before berating other countries. After the recent disgraces, it will be a long time before an aussie cricketer will hold his head high.

How can he be absolutely right when he is wrong?
