Good win to Stikers lasy night.

Even better was the display of Aussie sportsmanship shown by the Strikers in recalling the Bribane Heat batsman Pattinson who was clearly not run out.

Agree
However if it occurred in Test cricket, I wonder if the fielding captain would be so sportsman-like

Unbelievable decision, as bad as the one against Chris Jordan v Bangladesh that cost us the world cup. Thankfully the Strikers South African captain Colin Ingram did the right thing. Good to see Alex Carey say "I'm not like Gilly, I don't walk," after getting away with nicking a ball to the keeper

Not me.

Then again, I didn't watch the first half of their innings either. :P

BBL Final at Adelaide Oval on Saturday ,and only 15 k turned up.

The threw BBL finals have only 40k across three finals.

Average crowds down by 10 % on last season and 33% since the schedule was increased to 14 minor rounds.

why are they having such long breaks between these finals matches ? i lost interest well before the finals and thought it was over no games on tv for a while lost even more interest now. Team that beat us only just scraped into the finals.
The system they use in rain shorten matches kills the team batting second seems very unfair no wonder people dont go or hang around.

Be interested to see the TV numbers. Ended up watching most of the games this season and have really enjoyed it.

Too many games dominated by the want for $$$

Why it isn't 6 teams (state teams) and play each other twice (10 games) is bemusing.

Allow 4 foreigners per team.

Play on

Less teams and more foreigners is really limiting the opportunites for locals. CA won't have that. (or the players association at least).

Have a B division or separate "youth league". Its big bash after all, not like they need to work on a technique over a period of time.

The reality is people only so much money for entertainment by almost doubling the games numbers had to drop. Of course the SMA did the right thing in response to falling crowds at AFL and cricket by putting up food and drink prices.

Have they managed an even home and away season yet? That was why I lost interest years ago.

This is the second season of the expanded format.

Wow BBL on the skids only 13k for the Grand Final Decider at the MCG last night looked pretty embarrassing on TV.

The Strikers have suffered a big drop from 42k average in 2015/16 down to 25k, which is 40% in 4 seasons.

I agree with Shane Warner season too long.

Channel 7 doesn’t have the rights to all BBL games.

All shown on Foxsports.

that is interesting - so only 25% of the population who have fuxtel can watch it ??? how many of them like cricket ?
before it started Ch 7 were making it look like they were showing all BBL games as we did not get any of the one day series on free to air .
To be honest i havent really missed it, the commentators never shut up, some poor cricket , no spectators and poor umpiring makes it hard to watch and i have discovered some new shows on netflix.
hopefully the boxing day test is on tv, beginning to resemble a 50 over match.

The bashathon! Where you will find the usual suspects of this forum. Not following any live Aussie soccer-football for them.

Yeah, nah - it’s the mindless meaningless bashathon for them.

So I guess you prefer the third rate Utd franchise over the elite Strikers franchise. Each to their own

True enough but Salt is in the squad for the No. 1 ranked T20 team on the planet, Strikers Rashid Khan ICC T20 player of the decade wouldn’t be a household name either. No avoiding the fact Strikers are competitive in the 2nd rated domestic T20 league in the world which makes them elite relative to their sport

Bad news that Strikers will lose Rashid Khan for the remainder of the BBL due to commitments with Afghanistan.
