Anyone watching it?
You have home advantage so would expect you to win. You never know, you might beat us.Bomber wrote:Not that interested.
If we win most gold, you'll say we cheated.
If your lot win most gold, you'll go on (and on) about it anyway.
So no need - I'll await your reports.
Where did I say I don't think we will win more gold than your lot? Dumb champagneB.Toomer wrote:Yeah, you'll be interested if you win more gold than England, but as you don't think you will,"you're not interested ". How australian.
You can read thoughts via the internet now? This gets better as we go. What am I thinking right now?B.Toomer wrote:I didn't say he said it, I said he thought it and that is why he's "not interested ".
Cooper wrote:Been watching some of it or have it on in the background. Having more sport to watch is never a bad idea.

That's my take on it. I know it's always going to be but I just wish it wasn't as aussie centric. I haven't even got to hear Jerusalem blasting out yet.
If there was, the English would have it in the bag!God is an Englishman wrote:Just noticed that the games medal tally is also including the para athletes as well.
Not sure what to make on that? For one, some events they are practically giving away medals as so few people are in the event.
Different matter - too many swimming medals, you don't get the 100m running backwards in athletics.
Doubt it, if we were that good at running backwards then the Commonwealth Games wouldn't even exist.Brian the Postman wrote:If there was, the English would have it in the bag!God is an Englishman wrote:Just noticed that the games medal tally is also including the para athletes as well.

They made the decision to have all athletes compete in 1 games and not separate the 2. My assumption would be they did it for equality and inclusion reasons. I don't think its a bad thing but do see your point that some events only have few competitors.God is an Englishman wrote:Just noticed that the games medal tally is also including the para athletes as well.

As for the swimming events, its not like they are just putting in random new events. The swimming styles etc have been around for a long time so cant really complain about them doing backstroke etc lol

Then there's running, with a bit of jumping involved.
Then there's a bit of running, with one big jump.
Then there's a bit of running, with one hop, a skip & a jump.
Well there wouldn't be if the Americans didn't bale you out in WWIIGod is an Englishman wrote:Doubt it, if we were that good at running backwards then the Commonwealth Games wouldn't even exist.Brian the Postman wrote:If there was, the English would have it in the bag!God is an Englishman wrote:Just noticed that the games medal tally is also including the para athletes as well.

If the germans has crossed the channel you'd have a point. They didn't, so you don't.Brian the Postman wrote: Well there wouldn't be if the Americans didn't bale you out in WWII

Interesting that a post about a sporting event has once again turned into some bashing on England. It's almost like you have an inferiority complex.

It was a compliment on your survival instinct and how much better you are at it than other countries.
If you leapt to the conclusion that it was a slight that says more about your esteem.
The running is quite important before the jump. Prob why Carl Lewis went 11 years undefeated in the eventSlinky_Pete wrote:Cooper wrote:God is an Englishman wrote:Just noticed that the games medal tally is also including the para athletes as well.

The running before the jumping is not how you're judged, It's just to aid the jumping part. A bit like the aft of jumping into the pool.
Maybe they were waiting for Caster Semenya to do some ball tampering.ozzie owl wrote:For the benefit of Toomer & Co.
