Whereas I'd go a West Coast v Collingwood GF.
Nah, Umpires would ensure a Collingwood win which would spoil it plus I don't rate West Coast that much (even we smacked them in Perth this year).

The umpires haven't had to ensure anything. Richmond just not up to the task.

Yep, that was true (for a change). I hope Melbourne win now.

the evenness of the competition means

- we will rarely see 1 club ever go back to back let alone a 3peat
- teams can rise from the ashes eg Bulldogs/Richmond....and who ever wins it this year (last year West Coast finished 8th, Melbourne 9th and Collingwood 13th)
- the Crows bloody missed their chance last year

@ Bomber....so you wouldn't mind seeing a red and blue double this year???

Not gonna happen, but hope Norwood today (only as North shouldn't be there) and West Coast next week

How'd your predictions go? ;)

West coast are a much harder proposition when Kennedy plays.

They weren't predictions per se, more so "I hope so and so wins". Seeing that hasn't worked well, I'll put the mockers and say I hope Collingwood win (washes mouth out) this weekend.

PS* SANFL flag is tarnished.

was at the GF yesterday and as a Redlegs fan, I hate to admit it but more often that not, Norths pressure acts were more consistent and more ferocious.....

that and our over use of handball cost us at least 3-5 goals.....

Tainted it may be for some - it was bloody awesome being there yesterday to see them break a 27-year premiership drought.
Clearly the better team yesterday and if it wasn't for Mitch Grigg's performance we would have won by plenty

Essendon 16, Collingwood 15 (still). Even Carlton have 16 but they're clearly concentrating more on wooden spoon stats at present. :)

Since it's a national competition and not an expanded VFL, Port Adelaide and Norwood have many more than Essendon.

If they played in the VFL they would have been lucky to have won ANY.

May as well compare Gaza's achievements next.

no...your comparison is wrong...what we are comparing is the achievement at the highest level at the time...that is, state based competitions...

either way (pre AFL or post AFL) Essendon fall short....

Bollocks - Port joined the AFL/VFL, not Essendon joining SANFL - there's where your scenario falls over completely.
