It is black and white. Both hit it, both stood there and didn't walk. Once again, it's ok to cheat if you're an Aussie.

you still haven't explained why its cheating!!!
For the same reasons that Stuart Broad was .

Please show me where anyone in South Australia has been taken to court to libel on the internet. However, I would love to see Smith in court.

As for the law, it's in the preamble to the Laws of Cricket.

quote the exact nature of the cheating according to the preamble and I'll do the same regarding libel laws in SA

@ Hawksey

id prefer to cite the following from the preamble...
2. Fair and unfair play

According to the Laws the umpires are the sole judges of fair and unfair play.

The umpires may intervene at any time and it is the responsibility of the captain to take action where required.

and as for slander/libel laws...even though its a residual power, all six States had enacted substantially uniform defamation laws....

As for the pre amble, ignoring the part about respecting your opposition and umpires?

Defamation - now you're on to something. Looking forward to Smith trying to sue me, that will be fun.

Smith noted there was a sense of deja vu about the incident.

"I reckon (it has happened) once before, and it actually might have even been out here (at the Gabba)," he said.

"I told Gunner Gould at the end of the over - I said 'I think I'm pretty sure I hit that one last over'.

"He said 'you've said that to me before'.

"So it's happened before, I guess you've got to take the good with the bad."
"I was very surprised. It was pretty loud, obviously I was on 97, there was a bit going on in the crowd," Smith told ABC Radio today.

"But yeah, I did nick it, and no one went up so I wasn't going to walk.
I love the part where he infers that he's a walker

So there we have it people. Smith admits he hit it and didn't walk.

Irrelevant?

This is why you divert to the black/white stance when it suits.

How is it relevant?

Does anyone appeal when you're caught at long on?
Does anyone appeal when you're bowled?

No, but does anyone stand their ground when such dismissals?

No but they're still out. So, the appeal isn't relevant. Smith knew he hit it and decided to stand there. No different to what so many players do these days. However, you can't take the moral high ground when doing so. He's as much a cheat as the others who go before him and after him.

You use the term "cheat" so loosely, just about everyone I know is one under your eyes if you look closely enough. I trust you have handed yourself in and offered to pay a speeding fine even if not nabbed on occasions.

Steve Smith was aware he nicked it. You may not be aware you were speeding.

I've never denied being a cheat (except in cricket and golf), two wrongs don't make a right though.

Just another case of aussie hypocrisy. Stuart Broad is a cheat because he isn't an aussie. Simple.

Then why raise it in the first place then? Or are you the police in what its ok to cheat at now?

If you want to call Smith a cheat, fine, I wont lose sleep, but do you think you and toomer will ever get over the Broad thing one day?

PS - remind me never to play you at Chess, poker, snooker or backgammon as I only play against those who don't cheat at these.

Only played poker once and I cheated. I played with a friend and deliberately lost on the hands that he would win so he got my chips.

Never cheated at snooker, backgammon or chess though.

I am over the Broad situation, I was over it at the time. I think he cheated. However, the media and even your coach gave him untold crap for it. Just more hypocrisy.

You may also want to take note that in my first comment I even said that I didn't think many would have walked.

Media and coach. Ok then.........you do realise that media and coach doesn't necessarily mean "Aussie hypocrisy" - it just means piss poor and biased journalism - something the British press seemed to invent. Cant even remember who was coach at the time (Broad incident), was it Mickey Arthur?

The coach was Darren Lehman

Not just the coach and the media though, boo'd and abused in every game by the crowd. Look at some of the comments on here about him abusing him.
