Steve Smith a cheat?

Of course he's a cheat for not walking.

That said, I don't think many would have done when there wasn't even an appeal.

Maybe he didn't think he was out. :?:

He knew he was out and it appears David Hussey agrees with me.
David Hussey wrote:“One hundred per cent you feel the edge, no worries at all, and I reckon if you look at him closely, he looks a little bit sheepish, He was knowing what was going on. He was praying that they did not review or refer the decision.”
It seems you only have to walk if you're not Australian.

Matt Renshaw wrote:"I walked into the dressing room quickly and he (Smith) was saying he smashed it

Others may have similar opinions and may read something into a comment he made but really only Steve Smith knows if he thought he was out or not. Im not saying he didn't think he was out, maybe he wasn't sure. I don't know, maybe he will clarify at some stage.

So, Renshaw is a liar?

A faint tickle is a bit less obvious than an edge to first or second slip. That said, I once walked when only the bowler "half appealed". I knew I knicked it (leg side keeper catch off a spinner). Coach actually gave me an earful for walking but later apologised and said he didn't blame me.

I have no idea but maybe he misunderstood what Steve Smith was on about with his smashed it comment. Maybe he was talking about his innings so far.

It's irrelevant whether it's a faint edge or caught at long on. You either hit it or you didn't.

Smith hit it and stood his ground.

Yeah, if it was Stuart Broad, the aussie press would want him drawn & quartered.

None, cricket doesn't have any rules.

I answered it. You asked which rule it broke, I answered NONE. You must have missed it.

Because you don't have to break a "rule" to cheat.

Just highlighting the hypocrisy.
And in 25 years time, you'll find another incident to "highlight the hypocrisy".

That's half your problem - you find one thing the "bad old Aussie got away with" in one breath, and yet harp on about anything that when it happens to you for the next ten years..

Best irony is when you still whine about Maradona's "hand of god" goal, 30 odd years ago. I'm surprised you haven't found a way to blame an Aussie for it.

Cry on.

Maradona was brought up by a polish bloke though, not an Englishman.

One incident?

Do you really think it will be 25 years until the next one? It's not even smiths first in 25 years

So bomber, do you think the reaction to Stuart Broad was fine whilst your captain is doing this?

His was a howler by the umpire more than anything, whereas no-one even appealed for Smith. But as usual, you see everything in black and white.

Nevertheless I'm sure you'll bring up Broad again in a few years time seeing as you are still infatuated with the whole thing.

It is black and white. Both hit it, both stood there and didn't walk. Once again, it's ok to cheat if you're an Aussie.
