Australia v New Zealand

Post by Sappers Road »

I'm not a fan of the review system (even though today they got it right). If the umpire gives you out suck it up and walk.

I presume you can be run out on a free hit.

What differentiates a stumping from a run out?

It's a run out if they are or were attempting to take a run
West Adelaide Soccer Club president Alex Alexandrou said the club was still in a position to be playing and training at the new ground either by the end of the 2015 season or in 2016.

I am pretty sure on sunday there was a run out where they weren't attempting to take a run.
English is weird. It can be understood through tough thorough thought, though.

The only run out I can see is Mitchell Marsh. Marsh was backing up at the bowlers end and too far out of his ground. By backing up that far, he would be deemed to have been attempting a run as he was out of his ground to gain an advantage in taking the run.

I don't think he was attempting a run.

I haven't seen it but look at cric info's description he was backing up out of his crease at the bowlers end. That's attempting a run, otherwise he would be in his crease.

Allow them to run until the wicket keeper has the ball in his hands.

Why the wicket keeper? You can be run out at both ends. Plus, this would mean that you could start a run all the time until the ball is in his hand.
