Who is the 4th? Khawaja, Renshaw, Cartwright and... ?
O'Keefe
OK, born in Malaysia I see. I'll hold fire on counting him until we know the parentage though, pretty sure he's not Malaysian. Assumption would be irish obviously.

Whilst I can't get a definitive answer - he was born in Malaysia due to his father having a job in the Air Force. It doesn't specify which Air Force though. My thinking on this is that he is Australian though.

O'Keefe became the first Australian Test player born in Malaysia, a result of his father's work for the Royal Australian Air Force.

This 3 year old story has Australia at 23 overseas born players. (now 25 with Cartwright)

England would probably have more than that if they counted India & South Africa only. They've had their 66th player born overseas debut.

As per the above, being born overseas doesn't bother me. England would have more but I would consider O'Keefe to be Australian, the same as KP is English.

That's fine. But remember, this convo started cos Old Redback said we have 4/11 born overseas.

(Australia's first ever Test side had 6/11 - so it's just keeping with history) ;)

Yes, but I'd be a hypocrite if I didn't consider O'Keefe to be Australian.

Which game is considered to be their first test match? I was under the belief that the first Australian team contained 11 Englishman.

Thomson the opener was born in NSW. So you are wrong there :-P

Yes, but I believe I covered myself by not claiming it as a fact. "Under the belief" gives that scope for doubt.

That's why politicians use the term "I (or we) believe......blah blah blah" and then if/when challenged later on they deny any such "promise".

It's stupid to highlight racism?

Stupid is someone who thinks their race is better than another.

Racism doesn't have to be derogatory.
