Maybe you and GIAE need to get together and work out once and for all what a true Australian is. You seem to pick and choose a lot.B.Toomer wrote:Normal aussie "sportsman".

Re: Krygios
They are the only true Australians. You are the one claiming others as Australians just because they can hit a ball, kick a ball, bowl a ball well or stopped off at Sydney airport on their way to somewhere else, e.g. Kosta Z, Joe Bugner, Tatiana. Just about all your music industry comes from N.Z. or Britain.

Re: Krygios
You lot claim him as an Aussie. He certainly has all the traits of a typical Aussie sportsman...foul mouthed, rude, vulgar, spoilt, poor loser & poor winner. He should model himself on Roger Federer not Hewett.

And he's great mates with Andy Murray, who is no choir boy himself...............Oh, sorry, he'll be a Scot rather than a "Brit" if/when suitsB.Toomer wrote:You lot claim him as an Aussie. Re: Krygios
Murray is far from perfect (and he himself is the first to admit it). I'm no psychologist but when you consider he was born with dodgy knee caps, his mother and father split when he was 10 and he was present (along with his brother Jamie) as a child at Dunblane Primary School in March 1996 when local nut job Thomas Hamilton killed 16 schoolchildren and 1 teacher it kind of put things in to perspective. Yes he fights inner demons but he is the type that kids should look up to as an inspirational figure. He has dedicated all his life to the sport and though he comes with rough edges as a fellow Scot I am immensely proud of what he has achieved as a great athlete and decent human being.Bomber wrote:And he's great mates with Andy Murray, who is no choir boy himself...............Oh, sorry, he'll be a Scot rather than a "Brit" if/when suitsB.Toomer wrote:You lot claim him as an Aussie. You did get the Scot and Brit bit spot on, it will all depend on the big one tomorrow to see if he is a champ or a chump and labelled accordingly. Either way he will always be a Champion (and Scottish) in my eyes.

Re: Krygios
Wrong as usual. He is not 'great' mates with Murray at all. Murray just spoke up for the Aussie brat re the media baiting him, as the foul mouthed lout isn't able to string a sentence together without expletives. You are so used to your 'sportsmen' being of his ilk, that another one is just excepted & excuses made for him. Passionate, volatile, 'larrikin'. Oh yeah.

Re: Krygios
Take it yourself and Bomber don't see eye to eye. I agree with most of above, Andy tends to take care of himself and not bag others. I think Bomber should have chose not to involve Murray as he can hardly be blamed every time the spoilt kid throws his toys from the pram.B.Toomer wrote:Wrong as usual. Culture and upbringing have a huge impact on how we behave and yes it would be great if they could all behave as well as Federer the model pro. The reality is it will always be the same. We must accept that sportsmen will possess different traits and many don't perform at their best (or worst in some cases) unless they are on the edge. All said and done I detest the arrogance and attitudes shown by the likes of Kyrgios and Tomic, much prefer Kokkinakis as he appears to be a more grounded individual.
Then again the sports psychologists must love dealing with the fruit loops!

I'm not defending anyone, I just always find it funny that "Aussies" accuse any other nationalities of whingeing.

If anything, its usually just a handful of ex-pat Brits or their direct offspring that confuses you with so-called "Aussies" in this instanceGod is an Englishman wrote:Are you not an "Aussie"?Wayne Kerr wrote:God is an Englishman wrote:The irony of whingeing pom being used by "australians"

Nah, when you do it its "facts", anyone else, same/similar comment = whinge. Flogging a dead horse there but no doubt you'll need to try and have the last word. Hopefully some day they'll have a treatment for this type of condition.God is an Englishman wrote:You only think I whinged because you don't actually know the meaning of the word.

Federer was also pretty mouthy as a kid.
