Northern Districts named and played the first ever female in the competition. The name escaped me but she's England's wicket keeper.
I'm all for equal rights so I assume there's no issue with a man playing in the women's competition.

Re: Female playing Grade Cricket
She doesn't have to wear a box so there's a distinct advantage.
You'll always need a sub fielder/12th "man" though for when she needs to run off just before the break and get lunch ready for the rest of the team, and just before tea etc........

No one 'has' to wear a box....it's a choice....tempered by common sense....when batting it would shed a different light to the term 'bowled a maiden' if she were to be clean bowled by the opposition....Bomber wrote:She doesn't have to wear a box so there's a distinct advantage.
