What a champagne Michael Clarke
Everyone chardonnay over his eulogy. This is the same bloke who threatened to get a bowler to deliberately hurt someone a year ago.
I bet he regrets that comment now.

still wanted someone to be deliberately hurt. Such a nice bloke.Bomber wrote:Broken arm v death. Yeah, sounds fairly similar.......
That incident shows how easily things can happen and he wanted someone deliberately targetted.

I assume you still love your ex-wife, still remain friends with every kid from school, and have never changed football clubs in your life.
Or can events & circumstances change a person's viewpoint?

What is it with aussie cricketers not being able to deal with bouncers?

Given the retreats, the retirements, therapy sessions last time out, I think its safe to say Johnson will still bowl at the poms bodies next time out.

Haha watching him hobble off and then have to state that he may not play again made my day.
All because he had to be the big man and play in this test. Haha

I get the impression that with the abundance of sport scientists, sports medicine specialists, personal trainers, dietitians, sports psychologists...they are completely doing it wrong....seems to be more soft tissue injuries than I can ever recall happening....I think they need to drink more beer and exercise less.

At least he didn't go out for psychological reasons, something your lot are only too familiar with.God is an Englishman wrote:Haha watching him hobble off and then have to state that he may not play again made my day.

"at least" Clarke's looks worse to me as he has shown he isn't a team player. His own big head and having to play in this game came over the team. Hope he's done and never plays again, class A chardonnay

I to a point thought this too, but don't team selections come down to the selectors?God is an Englishman wrote:His own big head and having to play in this game came over the team.

Didn't he pull out of a NZ tour a few years back for family reasons (so he could bang lara bingle)Bomber wrote:At least he didn't go out for psychological reasons, something your lot are only too familiar with.God is an Englishman wrote:Haha watching him hobble off and then have to state that he may not play again made my day.

Re: What a champagne Michael Clarke
Yet somehow he managed (another) century and we won by 48 runs due to some decent declarations so both teams could make a game of it. He's got more minerals in his little finger than half the previous touring english team.God is an Englishman wrote:Bomber wrote:At least he didn't go out for psychological reasons, something your lot are only too familiar with.God is an Englishman wrote:Haha watching him hobble off and then have to state that he may not play again made my day.

I think the English would do just about anything to have a captain like Clarke.

Minerals? The same bloke who might as well have said - I'm going to get my mate on you. Coward, hypocrite and now shown to not be a team player. You're welcome to him.

For now, I think they'd be glad just to have someone in the side that isn't scared of Johnson!wizard wrote:Correct.Bomber wrote:Yet somehow he managed (another) century and we won by 48 runs due to some decent declarations so both teams could make a game of it. Johnson....total hypocrite.Bounces the Indian and goes to see if he's O.K. What happened to Phillip Hughes was what Johnson was trying to do to our batsmen all summer!! Just as hypocritical as his captain.

I have no problem with bowling the bouncer, it's part of the game but this is the guy who forced his intimidation last year perfectly and now he's pretending he cares.
Be one or the other, personally intimidation makes better cricket

Re: What a champagne Michael Clarke
Like Jimmy Anderson, Freddy Flintoff, Darren Gough, John Snow, Chris Broad, John Lever etc etc never bowled short with the intention to soften up the batsmen. The idea behind the bouncer isn't always to cause pain, it's to force an uncharacteristic shot, to push the batsmen back in his crease. Only a fool would suggest anyone playing cricket was trying to kill the opposition as you infer in the above post - scare, inflict a little pain yes, but not kill.B.Toomer wrote:Johnson....total hypocrite.Bounces the Indian and goes to see if he's O.K.
