Can you tell me when Chris Broad ever bowled a bouncer.Talk Is Cheap wrote:Like Jimmy Anderson, Freddy Flintoff, Darren Gough, John Snow, Chris Broad, John Lever etc etc never bowled short with the intention to soften up the batsmen. The idea behind the bouncer isn't always to cause pain, it's to force an uncharacteristic shot, to push the batsmen back in his crease. Only a fool would suggest anyone playing cricket was trying to kill the opposition as you infer in the above post - scare, inflict a little pain yes, but not kill.B.Toomer wrote:Johnson....total hypocrite.Bounces the Indian and goes to see if he's O.K. Hope the correction helps, was a broad, sweeping statement and Chris Broad used to sweep, not a great walker however.

Any English cricketer who can practically piss off all of australia has to be a legend. When it also further exposes their hypocrisy, even more so.PDog wrote:You use the term 'legend' rather loosely...

I think he was the 2nd highest wicket taker in tests for 2013, that would suggest A LOT better than OK.wizard wrote:So you probably meant "good bloke, but ok-ish bowler"God is an Englishman wrote:Any English cricketer who can practically piss off all of australia has to be a legend. Highest, according to: http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine ... ;type=yearGod is an Englishman wrote:I think he was the 2nd highest wicket taker in tests for 2013, that would suggest A LOT better than OK.
Strike rate wasn't great though.

Re: What a champagne Michael Clarke
Now, talking about selfish captains.....
Cook has captained losing series against Australia, Sri Lanka twice and India......and the one series they did win against the W Indies, he didn't play
He is ave 27 in 2014
He has scored a single 50 in 2014
He jettisoned Pietersen, Bell, Bopara and Hales
With a record like that, do us a favour and remain stubbornly defiant.

So the reason Broad took the most wickets in 2013 is only because of the number of Tests played?God is an Englishman wrote:We've hardly played a test in 2014

Re: What a champagne Michael Clarke
After today (especially) in the commentary box, I hope Michael Clarke recovers quickly and gets back out on to the field. The constant reference to batsmen as "batters" was vomit worthy. Channel 9, please dont think of signing him up after he retires. Whilst you're at it, Brayshaw can sod off too.

He's always told me he's an Australian of Polish/Ukranian descent so there is a good chance he may have played cricket.B.Toomer wrote:So Bomber, if you played higher than A 1 Turf, you played higher than me. My guess is being a Polak, you probably didnt play cricket.

Re: What a champagne Michael Clarke
I played in school teams, U/14s at Woodville South, U/16's at Woodville (district) and played Turf after that with Comm Bank team for 3 years. What that has to do with anything about this thread or my previous posts about Clarke..............??Concentric Circles wrote:He's always told me he's an Australian of Polish/Ukranian descent so there is a good chance he may have played cricket.B.Toomer wrote:So Bomber, if you played higher than A 1 Turf, you played higher than me. Re: What a champagne Michael Clarke
Your comment that I responded to with that shows you do have NFI. You'll only be happy if Johnson stops bowling fast AT your batsmen and anyone else. So he hit a guy and was concerned about his welfare - you do know what its like to lose a close mate in a certain way and not feel some impact? Perhaps you're just an unfeeling sherry, who knows. Fact is, over time, whenever he hits someone in the head, even a pom, then he is likely to go and check on him. Shouldn't stop him bowling the way he does and did.B.Toomer wrote:Because you claimed I had "nfi" about cricket. When "clearly", you have NFI about my cricket involvement.

Maybe that's why mummy's boy hasn't been bowling fast this series. What's his excuse this series?
