Then he'll do exactly the same in the next series. He won't learn.

Great batsman, but still learning the stresses of captaincy. I reckon he and Root will get on okay when it comes Ashes time, but you never know when the poms will start whingeing about something and situation then becomes open to more sledging etc.

Recent times will certainly tell you that the aussies whinge more than the English.

They also have been a lot more guilty of bad behaviour as well.

Aussies need to know where the line is and where the spirit of the game is, for far too many years now they have been over that line and no idea where the spirit is.

They may struggle to find the spirit, but little trouble finding the beers. 8)

How do you not have home ground advantage?

We do, but India are dictating the terms. No pink ball test v them at Adelaide, no first test at Gabba. All their doing!

This is one time I do condone doctoring pitches. Hopefully we can hire a English consultant on how to do that with some expertise.

Well pink ball, that's up to them. I don't blame them. However, no decision has been made final yet.

Gabba - CA should be able to dictate where games are held.

Doctoring- nice try.

Its our series, we invited them, we should play pink ball test when we like and play where we want and in what order. This is the whole point. India can do whatever they like when we go there.

A bit like if I was invited round to someone's house for a meal of worms, I would politely decline.

Test cricket is played during the day with a red ball. If you deviate from that then both sides must agree.

England declined at first, mainly because the schedule didn't include a D/N warm up game. Schedule was changed to accommodate it.

I believe India have been offered and will have more than usual warm up games. They're just playing hard ball and if our guys go "soft" on the field after this supposed new approach to the game, I trust the crowd will still get stuck in and we start juicing up the pitches - even SCG.

Well just announced the Adelaide Test will be a traditional day test , as India refused to play the Day/Night format.

Cue the aussie whingeing because the cheats can't get their own way, already all over social media.

Its all about $$$ so they will buckle.

Looking forward to the next itinerary when we go there. No dustbowls please, no games in Kolkata please, and lets shift the first test to a venue where we don't always lose please.........

Does anyone really care whether its a normal day test or day/nighter anyway?

As long as a test gets played who cares what time of day it is.

I've not seen anything that says India had anything to do with no tests at the gabba.

Sutherland even said 6 months ago that the gabba is as the 5th venue. With only 4 tests being played, 1 had to go. Which venue would you have dropped?

Sydney or Adelaide (now that its day only). But they'd never do that. Gabba gets Sri Lanka instead. Perth only get the gig due to new stadium. Again, its all about $$$

Now they've cancelled they're tests against Bangladesh admit won't make enough money. Are they running scared? Cowardly?

I've said all along the power of $$$ is ruining the fabric of the game and what's deemed to be fair play. They should go - players still get paid from contracts, so not like they wouldn't try hard.

2018/19 - sadly think we'll lose 3-0 (one drawn) - we may sneak one, but will lose this series. Hope to be proven wrong though.

Batsmen very unsettled and apart from maybe Shaun Marsh, none in any decent form at all. And even Marsh has struggled against spin before.
Just cant see it (us winning), unless our bowlers have a pearler of a series and some of the Indian batsmen have a lot of bad luck.

You have the hope that your pitches won’t be spin friendly.

India will win each test by batting only once, the aussie batsmen are shocking

Cant believe bookies still have Aussies as slight favourites. Reasonable odds on India to win but can't bring myself to punt against the Oz
