Aus v India - test series

I suppose it's almost safe to talk about the matches now after a tragic week or so.

Cant work out how this first test will come out apart the being high on emotion. Either the Aussies will struggle without the usual aggressiveness they like to dish out, or they will band together strongly and just play some damned good cricket.
I can see any time a batsman makes a ton from now on, for a while at least, he will look to the sky and acknowledge, "this one's for Hughesy".

I think it will help the Australians band together and it will be a good series.

I wouldn't want to be playing any team who had just been through what Australia has.

India are a terrible touring side.

Will be interesting to see how many bouncers are bowled in this series.

By the way, when is it no longer TOO SOON. The funeral's occurred, that's long enough now isn't it?

More than long enough now. These days too many things get blown out of proportion.

Agreed. In the workplace if you lose a family member, most places will give you 5 days off max to grieve. Its probably the best therapy anyway (get back to work not too long after).

Here's hoping India won the toss, bat and johnson's first ball is a bouncer.

can imagine a section of the crowd whingeing if an Indian bowls one

Not if Warner hooks him for six, which is quite possible.

Warner won't be hooking Johnson's first ball for six.

To be honest I didn't think the aussie crowd would, they're not known for their sensibility or balance.

That's why I am confident he won't be hooked for six by Warner.

If he'd scored 3 more runs before crying out injured again he could have looked like one hell of a sportsman

Hoping Clarke can get to 100.

Will go down as one of the most inspirational centuries of all time.

Returning from back spasms during the game and the first innings since his good mate died.

We must be very close to 100 Phil Hughes inspired clichés by now.

Warner and Smith both scored tons since their mate died and I wasn't inspired.

The fact he pretended he played through an injury is hardly a big deal, if he wasn't fit he shouldn't have played.

Did anyone else hear Greg Matthews commentating today, I think he could be in a lot of trouble.

Read again. Response was to "...if India bowl one first"

They were talking about the light and he said along the lines of:

"I can remember batting in the west indies and we were playing at about 7pm. It was so dark we only knew the bowler was running in was because of their eyes and teeth."

Most would chuckle, but in this day and age...............

Matthews is a bit of a chardonnay anyway.
