Seven wickets for two runs... impressive (doing my bit in Hawkesy's absence)

Draw imminent, but test cricket can spring surprises, especially when Pakistan play

Going by the lack of activity on this thread I'm guessing the Aussies didn't go so well in the first Test.

I created the thread and then commented how poor we were. So you cant include me in that! Plus all the poms seem to be banned at the moment, probably due to negativity, whingeing etc, so its probably why some of them are quiet too.

I'm sure the poms will realise that it's VERY hard to get any result in UAE on extremely spin friendly wickets. Especially for australia who don't have a spinner out there, well not one that actually spins it.

Then again, so many aussie batsmen got out to balls that didn't actually spin.

At least none of our spinners retired mid tournament.

I think our wicketkeeper needs to consider retirement. Never seen Haddin keep so poorly.

Hats off to Younus Khan, third ton on the trot, not done against Australia since Herb Sutcliffe in 1925!

He's never been a gloveman, australia haven't had one since Healey

Actually, Edgbaston 2009 you had one.

Australia cant play on turning decks.... the only way we were going to do well
is if Pakistan players decided the money was better from the bookies.

rattling along @ 116/5

An innings and how many you say?
Now, if you're lucky, you could hack through your ankle in five minutes.

A lead of 465 - why would you not declare and give yourself as much time as possible to bowl out the opposition?

Reckon it must be a good batting track if the Pakis can get 570 dec. and Misbah can get 50 in world record time then equal the record for the quickest 100, can't think why the Aussies are finding it too hard.

Lets face it, we've been outplayed in all facets of the game. Batting has been poor, fielding (and keeping) abysmal and bowling pedestrian at best. I think once the Pakistanis got on top early on, the Aussies were mentally shot.
I do wonder how things would have gone had we wont the toss and batted first though. On pitches like this, it makes a BIG difference.
