Stone the crows!
Now, if you're lucky, you could hack through your ankle in five minutes.

Re: Sando Gone!
Interesting.
I think it's harsh, given the conditions he's had to work under (injuries and draft restrictions).
But the Crows haven't performed to where they need to be.
Coupled with Port's success this season, I guess something has to be done.
Surprised they actually did this though.
And not sure about Goodwin.
Would rather see Bomber T there if hre was available.

Bomber Thompson won't even consider it.wizard wrote:Interesting.

We have the squad to make the top 8 every season, without question, but we are far too inconsistent (obviously).
Stuart Dew and Goodwin seem to be the most strongly linked.
Still begs the question - where is the Senior Assistant we desperately need if we are to hire another rookie coach?
Re: Sando Gone!
Why would Thompson not consider it?
I would be very, very surprised if he stayed on at Essendon under James Hird and the Asada cloud.

Port fans laughing should just recall the process that brought Ken Hinkley to the club.

Ah ok, coach comes out in the media and says he interested in a job.
Guess that's gospel then, no coach has ever gone back and taken a job he said he never would..

Yeah I wanted Sanderson to stay at the crows,Bacon888 wrote:Port fans laughing should just recall the process that brought Ken Hinkley to the club.
I also hope for the same reason that Nigel Smart stays.

he wasn't their first or second preference....he fell in their lap because he was desperate to get a senior job anywhere (after Scott and Cameron both said NO! because of the basket case of a club they were towards then end of the Williams era and right through the Primus 'golden years').
Yes...Hinkley has shown to be a good coach but the Power didn't head hunt him....FACT!!!!

Re: Sando Gone!
Word is John Worsefold or Brett Ratten will get the gig. Gooodwin has just been appointed on the coaching panel at melbourne so that rules him out. I doubt theyd go for another untried coach like Dew.

What a joke of a club
Port has a history of eating its own.....its greatest player ever, Ebert was dumped as a coach to allow Cahill to return from Collingwood.....
I feel sorry for these younger feral brainwashed supporters

Re: Sando Gone!
Try getting some facts right mega...Cahill was coaching West Adelaide in 1985-1987 . He was at Collingwood in 1983 & 84MegaBonus wrote:totsreds08

Ebert was the first Port coach since WW2 not to have coached a premiership at the magpies.
Did Port make a mistake by sacking Ebert for Cahill in 1988 . I suppose history can be the judge of that

Re: Sando Gone!
a couple of years out is not the issue......plus, not bad for a Redlegs fan, working from memory
precisely my point.....the success of the act of ruthlessness can only be measured ex poste the fact.......I just hope that they have lied to us all and have someone waiting in the wings...Ebert was the first Port coach since WW2 not to have coached a premiership at the magpies.

Good. He was a terrible coach. There was a lot more to get out of our current group than he did

That's the only real confusing part of it for me...Bomber wrote:How about sacking the numpty who granted his contract extension for starters (unless it was Trigg alone).
Saying he struggled to communicate and form relationships, like they wouldn't have known about that in December last year when they extended his contract.
