Well obviously everyone has a monetary limit.

It's certainly not a myth that we support through thick and thin.
thats contradictory then , thick and thin means when money is tight you still find a way
I may not be perfect but I'm still the closest I have ever come across

How do you find a way if you don't have the money?

Great win for England.

Root with another century, now has 10,000 runs. A good win against the world teat champions.

On top of this we had Jubilee celebrations as well. An even better than usual time to be English.

Yeah! Suck on that antipodeans.

Barring injuries, Joe Root still on course to becoming the worlds greatest ever batsman. I for one hope he makes it.

Would the world's greatest batsman have to score a test hundred in Australia , to be deemed the greatest

If Root is to achieve a significant milestone you would think he’d have to be only 2/3 through his career at this point. Plenty of work still to do, maybe 3 more Ashes series ? plenty of time to better Australia’s last great batsman Ponting’s less than impressive average against England.

Milestones are one thing, class is another. Surely Lara, Tendulkar and Viv Richards are streets ahead.

Never saw much of Richards or Tendulkar to have an opinion but Lara was good. Aussies haven’t really seen Root at his best which can be very very good, I for one am hoping he gets to put on a big show for you lot before he retires. Still contend that if (and that is if) he gets to 16000 he must be considered the greatest batsmen

Its opinions, and I'm just stating that I've seen better players/batsmen. In fact, the english players that impressed me when it comes to stats are Jack Hobbs and Len Hutton. Different era, I know, but just saying you have to be careful when using "greatest" it's not just by mere weight of aggregate runs, it's the average, who against, the era etc.
