Re: Essendon Saga continues
Not that it matters now, the mighty cats deserved to win the 2007 GF, but it would be interesting to know if Dank actually revealed that he used the same program at Geelong as he did at Essendon.
The Geelong team especially in 2007-2009, was unbelievable to watch; what a team!
But, unless someone in the inner sanctum actually reveals any details about their "program" - The AFL wont have the balls to investigate it otherwise.
Bombers are still cheaters!

Convicted yet still no hard evidence - why WADA will always be a joke and a mob I'll never take seriously unless they got positive samples and therefore proof of wrongdoing.LFTWNG11 wrote:I am comfortably satisfied they probably were. Do you?! So if Geelong are guilty, what does that make Essendon*? Even more guilty than they already are.Bomber wrote:Do you think the "bigger, tougher, stronger" Geelong were clean when Thompson, Dank and Robinson were there?
All I know is Essendon* are convicted drug cheats and Geelong are not
Geelong's shredder probably works better than the one at Windy Hill, hey.

Exactly. Convicted but not necessarily guilty of anything. Fantastic system, we should adopt it in more parts of society.God is an Englishman wrote:NEXT!Bomber wrote:Convicted

The players admitted to lying to ASADA drug testers. That is evidence enough.Bomber wrote:

There was no "hard" evidence on Lance Armstrong either; he never failed a drug test. Will you be spouting his innocence? And you are so quick to cast dispersion's on Geelong; but according to you, Essendon* are above reproach.
The delusion of Essendon* supporters actually makes this whole saga so much better. Usually Bomber is a good poster who usually has valid reasons to back up his opinions... The Essendon* drug scandal though
All logic goes out the window and its everybody's fault but Hird's;, everyone else is guilty as well, WADA are a joke who only want to save face and everybody should feel sorry for athlete's who get paid about 500k a year and trained on WADA protocols every year.
The best thing is that you know Hird will be welcomed back to the club with open arms as soon as possible. I thought Carlton had deeply ingrained cultural issues... In comparison to Essendon*, they actually look decent

What a society of port.
After all it's the Australian wayVeterinarian Tom Brennan was also found guilty of doping for providing the cobalt to Kavanagh and O'Brien.
Counsel for Brennan, Adrian Anderson, told the board his client did not know the vitamin complex in the horses' drips contained cobalt, but he was sorry for failing to verify the substance and regretted lying to racing stewards.
"Dr Brennan is truly and profoundly sorry for the most dreadful and uncharacteristic mistake he has ever made," Mr Anderson said.
"He's sorry not only for the administration of the vitamin complex but also being party to lies told to stewards."
Time for some righteous indignation

But you've still been found guilty. Therefore under law you are guilty. That law is irrelevant now as t whether you did it or not.Bomber wrote:In your mind there are absolutely no innocent people in prisons around the world, despite numerous cases of wrongful or overturned convictions?God is an Englishman wrote:

Are you really saying they didn't break drug rules?
You're probably the type who thinks Warne was harshly treated for his drug cheating.

If all he took was headache tablets that contained banned ingredients, then yes. End of, he copped his punishment.God is an Englishman wrote:Are you really saying they didn't break drug rules?

As for your first question, why take blood samples if you cant prove what's in them? Point being, they couldn't find anything illegal which is the fundamental root of determination (in a normal civilised society), but clearly when WADA are involved, flimsy evidence, what might have occurred and "un-oathed heresay" is more than enough.

How have they been punished enough already? standard ban for drug cheats is 2 years. They only got 1. WADA should appeal.Bomber wrote:"I thought I was given.........." yet tests showed no such substance. If we're talking standards, why do usual "standards" not apply when obtaining undoubted evidence then?

Prosecutions appeal guilty verdicts all the time when they feel the punishment was too low.
Personally, I feel that an admission of guilt is enough evidence.

And incompetent WADA, and especially incompetent ASADA should be thanking their lucky stars they got away with such a win.

I'm sure those Chinese swimmers didn't know what they were taking either. It's OK to take banned substances as long as your coach doesn't tell you what's in them

I will if I believe he or she is genuine. Sorry Mr Olympic Tester I didn't know anabolic steroids were a banned substance, my coach said they were fine.
That's OK then, we'll let you off and you can keep your gold medal.
