David Warner

Post by N5 1BH »

‘Aussie Ashes hero’ David Warner continuously seems to show himself to be an ungracious, uncultured, boorish, boastful, smug, unlikeable pr!ck. My question is, is he just really, really thick or is he genuinely the biggest f@#kwit in world cricket since Harbijan Singh ?

No doubt he is Australia's answer to Harbhajan.

I think he is pretty thick and he has a problem holding his tongue (and his drink).

Still not consistent enough in the first innings. Can he take the pressure?

Seems to generally only be good enough to do it when the pressure's off. Before this test his 1st innings average was VERY low. I know for the last 10 tests he's only averaging 29. Thinking he's similar to hayden at the moment and just a flat track bully.

No he didn't! Chucker Johnson and Haddin did that.

Yeah he cheated by getting them out too much and making the English batsmen wet the bed in terror.

Not watched enough of him to know.

I think Tait's a slinger but not chucking. Lee was a chucker. You might remember about 8 months ago I asked the question if johnson's arm was straight when he bowls - never been convinced.

Watching Steyn in slow-mo, occasionally he looks sus if we are going to analyse to the enth degree.

Personally, no issues with any current day test bowler though.

Batsmen have had the benefit of smaller boundaries, flatter decks, bigger/thicker bats, so if the oddity comes along with a bowler from time to time, I see it as an evener if anything.

Read an article a while back into the mechanics of bowling and they claimed that if you look at every single fast bowlers action then they're chucking.

I've said before that to me there was 2 who were clearly suspect to me. Jimmy Anderson and Brett Lee.

Jimmy worked on his and it's not there anymore, Lee's quicker ball is a chuck - I have no doubt on that.

Jury still out with Johnson, but it would explain how he's gone from no hoper to one of the world's best so quickly.

Nah, all clear Johnson with me and if anything his few sessions with Lillee with run up, bowling action has made the difference along with his off-field issues being cleared up. Put it this way, if he's a chucker, then half the fast bowlers around are too.

Lee has retired from test cricket so he's pretty much irrelevent these days. That said, still didnt recall too many issues with him.

Lee chucked his really quick stuff... especially when bowling short.

Johnson is squeaky clean.

Rather have Cook's, Graeme Smith or even the other flat track bully - hayden's (if we are to pick a convict opener).

Then again, what nationality were you when hayden was playing?
