Wasn't gibbs the one that was going to go to Adelaide under the father/son rule?Red-4-Life wrote:I have a friend who knew him when he was here and he told them that he hates Adelaide and would never play for them. Of course, that could be until the right offer comes along. But interestingLFTWNG11 wrote:Pretty strong sauce that if Gibbs comes back to Adelaide, he will pick Port and not the Crows. Port have been in his ear for 2 years. If he doesn't sign a new contract with Carlton by May, I reckon he is gone.
Port are definitely catching up to the fruit tingles the way they operate off the field.

Port only have 4k less members than Adelaide, shows how far PAFC have come. Crows need to re-think their "team for all south aussies" slogan, it is clearly false advertising.

Not really...his old man played enough for the bays but with the moving goalposts of the afl father son rules for interstate teams, his games didnt fall into the designated yearsPDog wrote:he was never "going to" adelaide. his old man pulled up a few games short for him to be eligible.

Port fans just own more pets and have more kids than adelaide fansRed-4-Life wrote:Port only have 4k less members than Adelaide, shows how far PAFC have come. Crows need to re-think their "team for all south aussies" slogan, it is clearly false advertising.
Serious question though are SACA members, afl members, Sanfl members and adelaide oval members included in those numbers. I know the SANFL ones were at AAMI

Have a real market and brand will always win over a false claim to fame.
Port are doing this, whilst the crows just spreads themselves like a cheap hooker at the local meat market.

false claim to fame eh... how about "Est. 1870" or whatever when realistically it was 1997... there's your false claim pal.
port are doing well and doing the right things on and off field - but "fans" like you give them a bad name.

Well I know in world terms 100 years isn't much but in the convict colony it is a lot. Aren't they also the most succesful team in australian sport?

I have no idea.
Irrelevant anyway, does a team not exist until they're in the premier league, do they cease to exist if they get relegated.
So Wigan do not exist anymore and cardiff were formed this season?

SANFL and AFL are in no way competitively linked, your argument is invalid.

So now a league has to be cometetively linked for them to exist?
Facts are simple on this one, Port Adelaide have existed for over a century. They now have a team in the afl, You don't negate history becuase you move to a better league.
When were collingwood formed? Did they exist before the afl?

Re: IS PORT POWER becomng the bigger club!
Take Collingwood out of the AFL and it would have been the Port Adelaide Magpies....but it wasn't to be because there is no way they would let their be another Magpies team. The Power are a part of the success of the Magpies in the SANFL as Port Adelaide went from the local to national stage. PAFC est 1870. Not born in a court room etc...

Are you suggesting that they (& the AFL) don't know their own history???
