Hard to say. Weren't England looking good at the end of Day 1 in Brisbane?Bomber wrote:So far so good hey?Derek wrote:SA to destroy the Aussies and Clarke to add another series loss to his belt.

True, but would take a big turn around to lose it from here. 400 would be minimum you would think from here. Best part is when we were sent in, I thought the pitch would have been ideal for the quicks. Only the first session, so it seems.Bacon888 wrote:Hard to say. 4 for 297, with a current 200 run partnership, 450 minimum from here.
cant lose it that position batting first.

Re: Saffers v Oz
Australia doing very well and Johnson showing continued form. I do have a question though about Michale Clarke and his questionable decision for him to 'hide' at No 5 and send in a debutante above him against what was thought to be the best attack in the world?
Is it just me or is that weak?

Might just be strategy. Must say I was a little surprised to see him move from no 4, but cant see how its weak when you're talking just one spot. Debutantes need to walk the walk too.Old Redback wrote:Australia doing very well and Johnson showing continued form. At least he's not flying home mid series.
I'm sorry do you have a point or is this just another attempt to take to thread off topic?

Re: Saffers v Oz
All over Australia win by just under 200 runs Mitchell Johnson with 12 wickets for the game....what a difference a year is in cricket....still, won't really know until the next Test if Australia are the real thing or just riding the wave at the moment...

Wow what a win.
Johnson has been an absolute BEAST this summer!
I wonder if he can keep it up for years to come. Hes winning us games.

Can the words 'humble pie' and 'hawksey' be used in the same sentence now?

Re: Saffers v Oz
Two tests left, the saffers will hit hard back, you would think, but the Oz winning the first test in such dominant fashion will have its psychological advantages!

Re: Saffers v Oz
no doubt they will...however, johnsons figures against the #1 team in their backyard suggest that he was the main reason for England's poor showing...but im happy to be wrong and have someone argue that the reason why England lost 5-0 is because they really are just Shiiitte....
so..win-win....
so..win-win....

Re: Saffers v Oz
had to share the following readers comments.....
but at least Linda knew how to handle balls.....
Mitchell Johnson has done something truly amazing in the last six months.
He has gone from looking like a clueless wimp to looking like a 1970s porn star.
He has become the John Holmes of pace bowling.
Does that make the England team the Linda Lovelace of batting?
