They have a lot more fight in them than the POMs.Bomber wrote:Why not 3-0?! I know we're not playing england this time around, but one can hope!
The Saffers have a history (& national culture) of continuing to fight when they are under the pump.

When was the last time You were 200/0 in your first innings. Will you make 100 before the 4th wicket this time?

The relevance is clearly there when the poster thinks the cons will be 200/0

Did Waugh drop from 4 to 5?Bomber wrote:When Steve Waugh was captain, did he "hide at no 5" too?Old Redback wrote:Wonder if that coward Clarke will hide at 5 again?
Was Waugh touted as the world's best batsmen?

Re: Saffers v Oz
What are the aussie media saying about it, they were VERY quick to speak about the idiocy of Bell batting at 5?

At one time I think he was touted the best (in rankings anyway).God is an Englishman wrote:Did Waugh drop from 4 to 5?Bomber wrote:When Steve Waugh was captain, did he "hide at no 5" too?Old Redback wrote:Wonder if that coward Clarke will hide at 5 again?

What's Clarke's test average batting at 5 compared to 4?

Really? he was good but world's best. Not even the best batsmen in his family.Bomber wrote:At one time I think he was touted the best (in rankings anyway).

I have no idea on his average, merely pointing out that the aussie media ridiculed England stating Bell was hiding at 5. I disagreed with that comment as I disagree with Clarke hiding there. Merely asking what the aussie media are saying about it. I assume they're not being hypocritical about it all.

Re: Saffers v Oz
Which Aussie media? I can't recall anyone saying Bell was hiding at 5, merely that given his previous form that he could perhaps be tried at no 3 or 4 (couple of channel 9 commentators suggested it from memory). I think you'll find the same commentators suggested Clarke bat higher from no 5 to 4 when he was busy hitting 200's every second dig, hence the reference to looking at the averages at 5 compared to 4 for him.God is an Englishman wrote:Really? he was good but world's best. But "hiding"? Really, you guys are trying a bit too hard these days.

Channel 9 commentators mentioned Bell hiding down at 5 several times in the 2nd, 3rd & 4th test.
