What exactly have you guys achieved other than scraping yourselves off the bottom of a large pile of cabernet....you're still making a financial loss...

Start to repay some of the millions back that you have leeched and then you can at least hold your head up.

Well for starters, we aren't a bunch of clowns who try tamper with draft picks and the salary cap, disgrace our state and have Steven Trigg running our club. We have earnt more respect last season than what you guys currently have and we almost have the same amount of members as you do too (oh and we are based on a suburb, not a state)

Okay so they have updated it then, fair enough. But still considering Adelaide are the team for "all south aussies" the gap is not that big.

As for our finances, we have improved in every single aspect including membership, gate takings, merchandise and corporate in 2013 and it's going to keep on getting better especially with a new and better stadium deal. The crows finances seem to be heading in the negative direction while the Power's seems to be at least improving (while there is still a long way to go).

Just wait til you announce your $5m loss at tonight's AGM before making those claims.

Nice to see the SANFL do a back-flip after pressure form the public and legends who have stated that the Crows have "rubbished" the state jumper.
Crows just keep making a "dick" of themselves lately, with the 3 stooges in charge; Trigger-Happy, Sandpaper and Nigel Shart

It doesn't win you prem points by it does win you respect off the field. Next time a company wants to sponsor an SA based afl team, they can look at how both clubs have been run over the last few years. Same goes for players who may want to come to SA and aren't sure which club to go to. Port are looking good as a whole at the moment.

Yeah we were horrible under Primus but we should feel optimistic now. We have plenty of talent, great staff behind the scenes and finally have big companies wanting to jump on board the club. It's been a hard 5 years but we have reason to feel confident.

Re: Adelaide Crows to wear state jumper

IN a world where children starve, the issue of what a football team chooses to wear on the field is about as important as giving poodles the vote but bugger it, I'm going to have a crack anyway. Because sometimes you get a gift that unwraps itself.

As "guernsey-gate" has played out through a series of ever more laughable twists we've all learned that when the big fish keeps bumping its head against the walls of a small pond it loses an unhealthy number of the few brain cells it began with.
From the outset the whole thing whiffed a bit.

It began with the rare and unusual occasion of an away team calling a press conference to announce what it will be wearing at another mob's home game.

Did I hear someone say "relevance deprivation syndrome?"

Unable to get hold of their Western Australian captain, or his Victorian stand-in, the Crows wheeled out a former Port Adelaide Magpie to unveil a guernsey that would supposedly honour the proud traditions of South Australian football.

Adelaide's audacious bid to use the state jumper in the first Showdown at Adelaide Oval has ended amid uproar from footy legends and the public.

It was a gesture of respect, a nod to a glorious past.

What actually happened was someone at West Lakes rustled about in a shoebox marked "Heritage" and pulled out somebody else's.
The Crows decision to drape themselves in the South Australian state jumper was deluded at best and disingenuous at worst.

Sure, the last time there was an interstate game of any significance Hey Dad was still on TV but that doesn't mean a club side can dust it off and wear it.

It certainly doesn't mean it can pimp it out to its supporters to grab a bit of cash either.

The Crows claim the state jumper represents their roots, but if they really want to pay homage to where they came from they should just run out on to the ground in Round 2 in black robes and horsehair wigs while waving injunctions.

Port Adelaide is upset after the Adelaide Crows revealed their controversial jersey for this seasons Showdown.
The very fact Port Adelaide supporters are constantly reminded of their so-called deviousness back in 1990 should be evidence enough that the birth of the Crows wasn't supported by every South Australian football fan.

They persist with the slogan "The Team for All South Australians" when they patently are not - and shouldn't want to be either.
The electoral roll is not their membership list.

Not only do 40,000 paid-up Port members find the notion laughable but so do the South Australians in Carlton scarves, Collingwood jumpers and Hawthorn beanies who weren't prepared to walk away from their long-held allegiances just because there was now a team with a postcode starting with a 5.

Reaction of Crows fans to the reversal of the decision has been pretty predictable.
Port Adelaide are branded a bunch of sooks simply because they released a reasonably-worded statement expressing mild surprise and disappointment.

Let's ignore for a minute shall we the widely-reported disappointment of the Kernahans, Plattens, Motleys, McIntoshs and McDermotts who wore the state jumper with great distinction after having earned it.

Or the dismay of the likes of Kevin Sheedy and Leigh Matthews who could see how wrong it was from a wider football perspective.
Not a Port man among them.

The SANFL, the organisation the gesture was supposed to be honouring, is now copping a kicking from Crows players on Twitter for rescinding their approval to wear the state jumper.

The SANFL may have been the source of the foolish decision to approve it but not the original idea to wear it.
No jumper is "sacred" but some are pretty special and that state jumper is because that's what was being worn the only time I ever cheered for Stephen Kernahan, Michael Aish or that sublimely skilled peanut Andrew Jarman.

It was being worn the only time I cheered through the little bit of sick in my mouth for a team coached by Graham Cornes.
I shouldn't be put in a position where I want to see that jumper traipse forlornly off the field after a 20-goal pantsing.
The Crows aren't part of my football heritage but that jumper is.

It belongs to the only team that is truly for ALL South Australians.

Thank you and good night. The facts have been spoken, not the made up crap you hear from Rowey and Graham Cornes. This is not about Port Adelaide vs Crows, the issue is far bigger than that but it's you crows fans who don't seem to get it.
