CYCLING -Be safe / smart

Post by The General »

Good to see a lot of people cycling all of a sudden, because of the weather and upcoming events.
However those who wear black / grey outfits, and are cycling in and out of shadows, are not very visible to some motorists, especially when we also have to deal with the glare of a rising sun, as a couple found out this morning after a near miss ( roundabouts along Seaview Rd, Military Road )
The need to be seen and be aware of conditions at all times.

Go past here pretty much every day. Nearly cleaned one up the other day when the bugger didnt even stop at the roundabout - just whizzed straight through. Yet so many of these numpties point the "danger" finger at motorists. I dunno, guess we have to just put up with even more idiots on the road.

Idiots amongst both, Adelaide has the worst drivers of the numerous places I have driven in.

Until cyclists are held to account for their road traffic offences they will continue to not care about the danger they place themselves in.

Bikes are small. Cars are big.

cyclists need to keep out of the way of cars.
that is the rule of nature.

Could say the same about all the grey and black cars (or any dark color for that matter) that drive through the tree in the hills with no headlights on.

you are probably correct, Ive had close calls on rainy days when the cars you mentioned dont have lights on - I think The G was expressing concern for the safety of the cyclist - difference is motorists have a vehicle to protect them, cyclists dont.

Either way it's paperwork I don't want to fill out more than anything.

surely if they drive through a tree, whether their lights are on would be pretty irrelevant.

Well played
I once saw a transvestite in a mini skirt. I thought that shows a lot of balls.
