Cant believe Woakes didn't get man of the match!
I think from recent history moaning about a sub fielder has been more of an Australian trait.
More recently its been a Hawkesy whinge.

No it's been highlighting the cons hypocrisy. I mean who can forget the tranny lovers rant in 05.

10 years ago...........how far shall we go back in history about any point?

12th man "specialist" fieldsman. Happened then, door was open, no-one gave a hoot, now its fair game. Problem?

Because Ponting cried about it and now Australia do the same. If a player is injured then why would you bring on a batsmen?

As I said - Happened then, door was open, no-one gave a hoot (about the complaint), now its fair game. Play on. You're the ones still whingeing about it.

Not whingeing at all, you brought it up. I felt it was completely fair at the time as I do now.

Australia were doing it as early as the 70's when Lillie and Tommo use to go for "comfort breaks".

I like the way you can remember that but not when the English first division was two points for a win.
I'm not playing anymore and I'm taking my ball and going home.

I was very young when it moved to 3 points.
I think I read about the comfort breaks in Duncan Fletcher's autobiography.

Them's the breaks...didn't seem to have as many drinks breaks or people running on with drinks everytime there was a break in play, as they do now.
Plus, there were still 8 ball overs up until 1979.

I used to play in a cricket tournament until about 98 that had 8 ball overs.

6 ball overs were preferred by TV...more commercial breaks :)

Tv didn't seem to mind about our games from some reason.

Most cricket in England was on free to air tv until quite recently.

Australia loved the 8 ball over more, couldn't be stuffed changing ends so much.

All before I came here. I never heard of cricket until about 1983.
I'm not playing anymore and I'm taking my ball and going home.

With all the no balls and wides Thommo and Lennie Pascoe used to bowl back in the day, sometimes you'd have 12 or so deliveries before over was complete!

So, the consolation series starts tonight. I guess pitch conditions will have less bearing.....

PS - even I laughed at Watson's dismissal in the T20 the other night

Nice to win it, but we all know the bigger prize was the test series. At least we are world champs at the ODI's. :)

Watson is the gift that keeps on giving, should he really be giving send offs with his record. Speaking of Australian knobs, I hear Warnie has been giving lessons in behaviour to Kyrgios.

Next we'll have Ivan Milat giving hiking tips to tourists! :P

PS - Nice win though.

That Ben Stokes decision was a disgrace. Smith, Stars and the 3rd umpire should be ashamed of themselves.

As soon as I learned of this I knew you would bring it up. Wasn't Waugh once given out for handling the ball. Rules are rules.

Stokes is a cheat, the crowd are racist, and Morgan is a liar, and the umpires got it right, that's how i saw it, stokes reflexes are pretty good, here he is in action training before Thursday's game https://vine.co/v/eT7DrDHM21Q stokes knew exactly what he was doing and it wasn't to protect himself

So you want the laws of the game changed now?

Laughable trying to defend this - he was going to be run out, handles ball, and wants sympathy?

Same old aussies, always cheating. From whinging about "bodyline" to bowling underarm to claiming "catches that clearly touch the ground" & now, appealling for this. That ashes loss goes deep!!

The law states wilfully obstructs the fielder. He's falling and not even looking at the ball.
