Re: Port power
I don't wanna get too cocky heading into this weeks game but I think we will get the job done if we play like that again. I think when we lost to GWS last year team morale was at an all time low and the players were dreading being out there each week, and didn't respect their coach. It looks like that has changed now, Hinkley has done wonders for the players.DOC wrote:yes its only melbourne who are prob a year or two away from being anything like a football side but its the way port went about it and kept on pushing the margin further in the last quarter
gws this week should be another 50 point win then we can go from there
Congrats to Ollie Wines too...going to be a gun alongside Ebert, Hartlett and Wingard in the midfield!
Was impressed with all our recruits too. Stevenson and Heath were solid, Monfries caused a few headaches and kicked 3 and Jake Neade just doesn't stop running!

Our first real test this week. Things will become much more clear after the Showdown as to where we really sit in terms of improvement.

Re: Port power
Any danger the whingeing might stop soon about not getting another (quick) player elevation due to Ryder having a year off? You knew the risks when you lured him, now crying about it.

what about Monfries?
Port was arguing that Monfries was traded before this scandal broke out, and Port had no idea of the crap your team put them in.
funnily enough, Bombers will have 43 players this year; whereas Saints, Dees and Power will only have 42 on their lists.......

Monfries exempt for reasons stated - hence one short and not two.Wayne Kerr wrote:Bomber wrote:Any danger the whingeing might stop soon about not getting another (quick) player elevation due to Ryder having a year off? You knew the risks when you lured him, now crying about it.

Re: Port power
sorry...Power were arrogant and negligent......;
they whispered sweet nothings in Ryders ear to get him to come to the Port.....they knew the risk (buyer beware).....knowing the risk they should've drafted a ruckman on their rookie list whom they could upgrade....but then again, he wouldn't be the missing piece to the premiership jigsaw puzzle...
also heard today that theyre paying 100% of their salary cap....not bad for a team that finished outside the finals...and up until this year ran a deficit operating budget

If nothing happened with any players, Bombers would have had 45 to Port's 44. jWayne Kerr wrote:Bomber wrote:Any danger the whingeing might stop soon about not getting another (quick) player elevation due to Ryder having a year off? You knew the risks when you lured him, now crying about it.

Re: Port power
Why should Essendon get top ups for the players they resigned last season then? They knew the risks of resigning these players. They shouldn't be allowed to top them up.Bomber wrote:Monfries exempt for reasons stated - hence one short and not two.Wayne Kerr wrote:Bomber wrote:Any danger the whingeing might stop soon about not getting another (quick) player elevation due to Ryder having a year off? Re: Port power
Afl are more corrupt that fifa.
as long as the big 4 vic teams are looked after.
can u imagine Eddy's reaction of Collingwood was in the position of Port.

Winning 8 of last 9 games is something to worry about.Wayne Kerr wrote:Mega, you should spend more time worrying about the Crows...
Losing to a team that's now won 9 of last 10 at home is also troublesome.

Whilst I don't condone throwing objects at players how do they determine it was an act of racism?

ask the PAFC.....it was their investigation and their decision to label the incident racially motivated...

Where was the racism? She threw a banana more than likely because she had a banana handy. Not that I am condoning throwing objects at players, what object would not be considered racist had it been thrown? A boomerang?
