My team has changed a bit since I posted this

Bit harder this season with the extra midfielders in there but also some good bargain players to get and chuck in as emergencies

 that would be nice. Got some tips tonight from someone who knows their thing or 2 about DT so I'll make some changes by the weekend. I don't get why people take it so seriously anyway. Bit of fun with some mates! I tend to make the GF often in at least one league I participate in each year...i'll take that

I'm a bit sceptical on Goddard at the moment. See how he goes at a new club that has been full of controversy. Will keep an eye on him for sure though

+1

If you don't have Goddard at that price, considering he'll play through the midfield a lot, you're on crack.

Anyone taking part in a draft league? I'm in a 12 man draft league with close mates and it's been awesome. Draft day was superb. Took us about 5 hours in total, but with pizzas, beers, pool, & poker afterwards, it made for an awesome day. Quality addition to the game.

Aside from the heat that day, it was quality, and it just flew by. This is our draft board:

Yeah, 12 teams (vertically), with 22 players each (horizontal). 5 defenders, 6 mids, 2 rucks, 5 forwards and 4 subs. The different card colours represent different positions. This is our set up while doing the draft:

Some of us dressed professionally for the occasion. Oh and our two 'out of towners' skyped into the draft day from Perth and Canberra. No half measures.

There was a laptop next to the draft board too, where the two out of towners skyped in.

The rest of us has pages of spreadsheets printed out already to work with. The commissioner did the draft online later, using the draft board. Was so much fun.

My final squad:

Def: Heath Shaw, Troy Chaplin, Danny Stanley, Michael Firrito, Dustin Fletcher, Scott McMahon (sub), & Tom McDonald (sub).

Mid: Scott Pendlebury (C), Brett Deledio, Brent Stanton, Kade Simpson, Mitch Wallis, Adam Treloar, Jack Ziebell (sub).

Ruck: Ryder, Kreuzer.

Fwd: Tomahawk, Luke Dahlhaus, Mark Lecras, Jason Porplyzia, Lewis Jetta, Walters (sub).

not bad, not bad. Chaplin will get a lot of disposals which is good for DT but if this is for Supercoach they'll just all be clangers

Yeah, it's a lot harder than it would seem to get a good squad together, especially with 12 people in the league. I was pick #2 in the draft order. Pendles was my first round pick, Deledio my second. A lot of scrambling for trades going on since the draft.

I'm ahead by 40ish points right now, with his captain (Watson) having played already. Should be able to see this one through and get off to a good start.

Gee and I thought just picking a normal team (no draft) was hard!!

Bit tougher this season with extra midfield spots to fill and the salary cap does no favours. Requires a lot of research which I dont have time or patience for  I liked Kommer from Essendon, could be a good cheapie to bring in and Howlett also had a good game as well but too hard to really judge after just one game.

My mate was speaking to me before the game last, and he's like 'I'm dropping Howlett for this round, he just doesn't score well enough to get a starting spot for me right now'. Howlett then goes on to score 159.

He's devastated.

Well after LeCras broke his arm tonight  I reckon I may trade Josh Kennedy from WCE into my side for him. Cheap replacement and will free up some cap space. Happy with Barlow's score :D

I'm spewin' about Lecras. Only upside is that he had already earned a score of 91 before he went off injured. He's a big loss to my forward line though. :(

Yeah he is, if Kennedy is consistent he will be a good replacement for him though. Pavlich reported too  2 games in and I could have already lost 2 players!!!
