Sporting scandals
As Lance Armstrong is banned from cycling for life, we ask what is sport's biggest scandal?

Lance Armstrong
Melbourne Storm
Tiger Woods
Ben Cousins
Hansie Cronje
Shane Warne
Carlton
Sonny Bill Williams
Mike Tyson
Wayne Carey
Another...?

Re: Sporting scandals
I would say all those others you've listed are just pimples on the bum compared to Armstrong.
Plus the fact that half of them are Australian, so nobody really cares.

Time for some righteous indignation

Re: Sporting scandals
Proven or otherwise, it was still a scandal.
Oh, the irony of someone from Ōmuta slagging off Kokura as inaka.

Re: Sporting scandals
Can add Argies win over Wallabies this morning. How their last try wasn't ruled forward pass is a mystery, some poor decisions overall and crowd having to shine lasers in the eyes of the Wallabies, well, there you go again.
Didnt play well, but still a farcical result.

that list is a joke, maybe biggest in Australian sport but not even close in the scheme of things.Bomber wrote:Can add Argies win over Wallabies this morning. How can a country that wasn't even in the final have been robbed?MegaBonus wrote:1966 WC Final.....Germany were robbed....

Re: Sporting scandals
I would include Hand of God, Harding/Kerrigan, the eight men out, but I'd still say Armstrong is the biggest, lying for years, at times under oath and then it all came crashing down.with a big thud.
Give the Qatar World Cup a few more years and once it all comes out in the wash, there's a chance that could be up there too.

Some of those Pakistani wickets last night looked a bit sus in the T20. A bit too easy a win for Oz and looking at some of the wickets Pakistan "threw" away......Hmmmmm.............

Not seen him get a decision wrong yet. Pass was VERY close but not forward.Bomber wrote:Can add Argies win over Wallabies this morning. Re: Sporting scandals
I think the current interpretation of the rule is if the receiving player is behind or level with the ball carrier, the pass is still legal even if the angle of the pass moves the ball slightly forward from where it was released.

Interestingly, it was the aussies who pushed for this ridiculous change as well.Ernie Cooksey wrote:I think the current interpretation of the rule is if the receiving player is behind or level with the ball carrier, the pass is still legal even if the angle of the pass moves the ball slightly forward from where it was released.
