The Sunday Mail 28 page country AFL team liftout today just showed what they think of our real football local league. We get a pathetic half page if lucky for our premier competition and the county league AFL get 28 pages. :? It's a sad affair.

The media knows what sells it papers and sells ad space on TV. Although a lot of these people that run these organisations will enjoy AFL it comes down to who pays their bills. It's been proven that football (the world game) can draw good crowds in Adelaide and thousands play the game. Whoever controls the game is failing to provide a platform to that translates the game from juniors to seniors. Not only does the FFSA and FFA have a lot to answer for, it's also the clubs that insist on providing a closed shop in advancing mediocre junior players.
Unless things change so that the game is not limited to advancing average players supported by parental dreamings then the game in Australia will never advance.
This topic of conversation will carry on for years and i expect nothing will change.
