Re: Ashes 21/22
Read a source that implied it was to ensure he was right for Adelaide. How bowling under the lights there will be crucial.

Re: Ashes 21/22
One has to admit the SA state cricket team has been poor for a very long time. Ryan Harris and Nathan Lyon are the only two recent additions to the Australian team that seemed worthy. Looking back a bit further, Gillespie as well.
If I had to pick a "red ball" state team from SA from the last 50 years, it would look like this:
1. G Blewett
2. W Phillips (wk)
3. I Chappell
4. G Chappell
5. D Hookes
6. D Lehmann
7. P Sleep
8. R Harris
9. R Hogg
10. J Gillespie
11. N Lyon
12. A Mallett
All played tests for Australia (some of course went to/from other states during career)

Re: Ashes 21/22
But he has played for SA (hence my final comment).
Rodney Hogg was originally Victorian etc etc.

The excuses right on cue. Completely expected. Didn't take very long at all, just searched NSW cricket and plenty to chose from.

No excuses needed. You used the word constant, posts from 2010 and 2011 do not indicate constant.God is an Englishman wrote: ↑Tue Dec 07, 2021 4:02 pmCooper wrote: ↑Tue Dec 07, 2021 2:25 pmGod is an Englishman wrote: ↑Tue Dec 07, 2021 1:45 pm I await your excuses on this, hopefully you join in the whingeing.

7 posts (at least) on a football forum and you think it doesn't happen.
So, which days are you going to the cricket?

Re: Ashes 21/22
Well is starts today.
I think this series will be won by the bowlers and whose batting line up is less cabernet.
Only one australian and one Englishman are truly world class batsmen. Others will chip in with runs and maybe even score big on occasions but you also wouldn't be surprised if they don't score.
England saving Anderson for Adelaide and possibly not playing Broad either. With his record (albeit outside of australia) against candice's husband, why wouldn't you play him first up? Luckily, last I spoke to someone in the camp, I was told he is playing (but final decision was being made this morning).
Weather affected Brisbane will set the tone for the entire series.

Re: Ashes 21/22
Never has the saying, cabernet gets wickets, been more apt.
We need a captain's innings already. Only good thing is it looks a bowling wicket.

Re: Ashes 21/22
I guess Root wouldn't have wanted to do a Hussein. Cloud cover and an underprepared pitch (some may say doctored) but you just have to bat.
