Who says they're not up to FFSA standard, they're equally qualified.

So, every week the ref tells you you can't wear back. How many weeks are you going to ruin someone's game by refusing to change?

Hawkesy I think you need to ask the refs how many weeks are they going to ruin both teams games by doing what they aren't empowered to do. If the league accepts that Adelaide Uni's main strip is black and it doesn't clash with the opposition team (who therefore must also be wearing black or a very dark colour as well) then the refs need to comply with changing into an alternate strip.

In regards to qualification, how many refs in the amateur league are up to the required fitness standards?

Just so I know, what League rule states the referee must comply with a colour change?

Alright I will put it to you this way, if the league accepts your primary strip as being acceptable & it doesn't clash with the opposition then you are entitled to wear it right?

Of course you are, as long as it doesn't break the laws of the game which state:
The two teams must wear colours that distinguish them from each other and also the referee and the assistant referees
This clearly states that the teams must wear colours that distinguish, it says nothing about the referee wearing colours that distinguish.

It's their in black and white in the FIFA Laws.

Consult the Laws of the Game and you will see they are fully empowered to do it.

Hawkesy we have both been around this buoy several times, the fact that Adelaide Uni are still able to wear their black strip pretty much backs up my point.

It backs up the point that SAASRA held another vote and have decided to have a back up kit. This is what I have said for a few months now (since the new vote)

I certainly feel with that quote from the laws of the game that they do have the authority or do you still feel adelaide uni are above the Laws of the Game.

You're missing the point, the refs don't decide the competition rules the adminstrators of the game (ie the SAASL). No where in the laws of the game does it say that you can't wear black.

The two teams must wear colours that distinguish them from each other and also the referee and the assistant referees
So, there's the LAW.

It's clear as day. The teams are responsible for not clashing with the referee, not the other way round.

Point me to where it specifically mentions that a team cannot wear black?

16. TEAM COLOURS AND EQUIPMENT
(c) In the event that the colours (shirts, shorts or socks) of the two teams are the same of
so similar as to promote confusion, or if directed by the referee for other reason the
home team shall change.

It doesn't need to - it states that you have to ensure you don't clash with the referee! If the ref wears pink with purple spots then neither can you.

So when Liverpool played Arsenal last week in their away strip (Black) a ref could have gone up to them just before the start of the game and instructed them to change their strip?

What do the laws of the game or the competition rules state?

GIAE can't. But that's only because his club doesn't have a black kit.

They probably should, since black is slimming.

Well I do feel like that sometimes, you answer the question time and time again and quote the laws and still people won't listen and admit you are right.
